John McCain: The American President?

The end of a new national McCain ad states, "John McCain: The American President" Is safe to say that the ad was indicating that neither Sen. Clinton or Obama are American enough to be President? Both Sen. Clinton (born in Illinois), and Sen. Obama (born in Hawaii) are more qualified natural born citizens than McCain, who was not even born in a US state but in another country (Panama). How could McCain be more American than Obama or Clinton?

  1. It's an ad, for Pete's sake...he's trying to distinguish himself from Hilly and Obie any way he can, (even though he's practically the same as them)...forgetaboutit.
  2. He was born on a U.S. military base. I'd say that's very American.
  3. Are you sure that's what the ad was insinuating?
  4. Actually, McCain was born on a US Naval Base, which is technically US soil, so he was born on American soil. And the implication of the ad is that McCain will be a President for ALL Americans. This is supported by the fact that he has shown his willingness over and over to work with liberals, moderates and conservatives to make real progress. He is more concerned with the needs of ALL Americans than with petty partisan concerns, like Obama and Clinton.
  5. Ads don't mean anything... try to ignore them.
  6. what's not american about mccain? he's full of crap and has an exaggerated sense of entitlement. what else do you need to be president in this country? when's the last time we had a candidate who actually seemed as though he gave half a crap about anything other than him or herself? he is just what this country deserves.
  7. john mccain, is hoping his brother george w bush, will help him get to the white house.that is if he does;nt have a heart attack first.those two togather should be taken out in the woods and hanged.i don;t know what he;s trying to do.he calls himself american but does;nt want to end the war in iraq that his brother started.he does;nt know what being an american is.it;s just another word he just learned.maybe he thinks he's back in panama again.goes to show we don;t need him in the white house.he;s not even a true american.
  8. i hope so
  9. I don't think anything could be said to make you vote for McCain - you are trying to create a problem that is not there. It's sad.
