Is Barack Obama Muslim?

Hi, yes I know this question has asked before. Asked in elections, getting different views thanks. BTW I'm 15 and a freshman in high school. In class today(History) we have this TV program that shows news in a condensed version.(Channel One, if any are familliar with it). And today it talked about Clinton winning Texas, Ohio and Rhode Island when Obama won Vermont. After the program ended the teahcer starts his lecture about the election process. He gets sidetracked by this girl who says "why should we vote for a Muslim?(meaning Obama)" And suprisingly the teacher agrees with her. He says "I don't care what anybody says, Obama is a Muslim." And I look at him and I shake my head. My mom always told me that Obama was a Christian and that for the most part of his life he was a Christian. After that he asks in front of the class if I disagreed I replied yes and he showed me this chain mail email from his mom that says that "proves" he is Muslim. Is he right? Am I right? Is Obama Muslim? I believe that Obama is Christian. I do not believe that Muslims are terrorists. I think my teacher is a bigot and is a big conservative republican. Sorry, I don't mean to ask the same question in R&S over again.

I simply put in the search engine: Obama Muslim hoax and guess what? Lots of stuff came up. First one is a urbanlegends site showing a copy of the chain letters and debunking the lies, and also contains good links on more Obama stories. The second one is a CNN report on the same thing. I can't believe you teacher actually said these things, I'm still in shock. Maybe you can enlighten him, print out some facts and show them to him, and the class. Good luck!

31. You need to read the newspaper and watch CNN or MSNBC insetad of Channel One. Obama has been all over the TV (and so has his grandmother) saying over and over and over he is not a Muslim. What I can't understand is what difference would it make if he were a Muslim? We're supposed to have freedom of religion in this country and last time I checked Islam is a religion.

35. I've run across that chain letter a few times; it's a hoax with a lot of made up false evidences. Many people have been fooled by this hoax. The following website explains this hoax. His church was founded in black liberation theology, which sprang out of socialist/marxist revolutions in the 60's and 70's. Obama, in one of his books repeatedly refers to a mentor of his growing up in Hawaii named Frank in one of his books.
