Ron Paul????

Seriously. Is he serious? i head him say the other day that we shouldnt have stem cell research because the founding fathers never mentioned it... Is that seriously a political view? If so someone just kill me now

1. He said the government wouldn't fund it because they have no authority. It is all about private enterprise and letting them get the job done without unneccessary restrictions.

3. This is his view according to his website. (Yes, amazingly it is still up). "The question that should concern Congress today is: Does the US government have the constitutional authority to fund any form of stem cell research? The clear answer to that question is no. A proper constitutional position would reject federal funding for stem cell research, while allowing individual states and private citizens to decide whether to permit, ban, or fund this research. Therefore, I must vote against HR 810. "
4. Okay, I was with Ron Paul, but he just lost me there. I guess what he meant was that the government should not fund it. If it were me, I would say that the founding fathers did not say we couldn't, so what the hell. The founding fathers could not have foreseen something as complex as stem cell research. Guess Ron Paul not be nominated was not such a bad thing after all.
5. He doesn't want you to pay for it with taxpayer dollars....what's wrong with that? Anyone else is welcome to spend their own money on stem cell research, just not taxpayer dollars
6. He isn't saying it should be banned, he is just saying that the government shouldn't fund it because they really have no buisness making that decision. It is a the decision that should be made by the people at the local or state level. He is against any type of frivolous government spending and funding. You dislike him because he is leaving the decision to you? He isn't like everyother politician who wants the gov't to decide your life. Long live Ron Paul!!!!!!!
