8. Well the answer is rather blindingly obvious. It feels a little insulting to you to explain it. Hilary and Obama are running against each other for the Democratic nomination. If she implies that McCain - the republic candidate that one of them will be running against for the presidency, is better than her rival, then any Democrat who agrees with that would obviously be foolish to support Obama over her. If the text is McCain is better than Obama then the subtext is McCain will beat Obama so if you want a Democratic President you better support me.
