What do you think of Ron Paul for president?
I was looking at Ron Paul. You can see him on you tube. watch some of his clips and tell me what you think.
Public Comments
- not much
- I like him way way way way way way way way (whew) more then Barack Obama
- I think the same as most Americans do. That is why he is not going to be considered
- I think he is the only candidate running. The rest haven't given me any reason to call themselves a candidate.
- He's known as Dr. No. He doesn't have many answers. He's just against everything.
- His views echo my own nearly identically. Looking at the primary votes, Americans are not ready for a real change, just someone more charismatic in calling for change.
- Hmm, seeing as how he has 14 delegates, or 42 as pointed out by stark raving mad supporters of his that I didn't count those 28. And seeing as how there are only 800+ more delegates to win in the uncoming primaries. And how he needs 1,190 or around there. Hmm. Not going to happen.
- I've seen him. He's a nut case.
- He's not going to win. It's a popularity contest. He seems good, but he's not very well known.
- Ron Paul is certifiably insane. I watched one clip where he advocated revoking the status of international waters in cases where normally war should be declared, essentially reinstating the practice of letters of the marque, a form of legalized piracy popular from 1400CE-1750CE. The only upside to Ron Paul is that he is so crazy that if he was president nothing bad would happen because Congress would spend its entire time arguing with him and blocking all his proposals so they would accomplish NOTHING. Nothing good, but also nothing bad. Let's create the Ron Paul TIME WARP! And abolish the Department of Education. That's another good Ron Paul idea. He claims to be for the Constitution but he wants to make a pro-life amendment which would grant the Congress powers expressly forbidden to it in the Constitution, namely the power to promote a single religious view (his own) against all others. So much for his love of the Constitution's separation of church and state. Small government people love to hate him because when you take the position of advocating smaller government to the extreme, you get Ron Paul, which exposes the fact that small government is only okay when approached RATIONALLY.
- He is the only candidate that understands economics. That is why most Americans don't respond well to him. It is easier for voters to cheer feel-good rhetoric (e.g. "Change We can Believe In") than understand the impacts of fiat money, the federal Department of Education and GSEs.
- Looks like a lot of supporters of other candidates are just mad, because their candidate(s) have already dropped out, which only proves that Dr. Paul was- TOP TIER ALL ALONG. AND HE GETS MORE MONEY THAN ANY OTHER CANDIDATE FROM THE MILITARY. Guys like me. So go ahead and make fun of him. Your making fun of the soldiers/sailors/airmen/marines. So much for supporting our troops huh? Top Contributors US Army $68,817 US Navy $57,076 US Air Force $52,371
- read my lips no more texas's
- He's great but he'll never become president this time. If he ran with McCain as a VP then a lot of people might think of voting for McCain.
- i don't think much of it. I share the love of freedom he professes and some of my views make me more libertarian than anything else.I break with my conservative brethren on a few issues, But this Paul is a nut! he has blamed us for 9/11 and said the 19 hijackers where just misguided unaffiliated malcontents and there is no terror threat. he is BAD for this country now!
- I love Dr. Paul's message. Peace, Freedom and Prosperity.
- He's not going to win. However, he is going to take some republican votes away, and give the Dems a better chance...so...whatever.
- I think he's the best candidate, hands down. He is the only real difference from the status quo, in my opinion. Whether he wins this race or not, you can't put the issues he raised back into Pandora's Box. -- Matt, the 10th amendment says the 'other rights' are reserved to the states and the people. On abortion, RP would say it is a state's rights issue. The FEDERAL board of education didn't exist before the 70s. Do you think our schools were better or worse? In CA where I live, I promise you they were better. Again, he doesn't think the federal government should control this issue which is nowhere in the enumerated powers of the Constitution for the federal government. He is not for abolishing schools, just for keeping the federal government smaller and less expensive, and less intrusive. Tony, that is not what he says about 9/11. He says the madmen who attacked the towers were to blame but that the MOTIVE was because we were messing in other countries' affairs. That is how terrorists are able to be successful in recruiting. That is not to say it is the American people's fault. Only that there are many downsides of empire building even beyond cost. Resentment from the rest of the world is one of them.
- A lot of the 'facts' that these people presented about him are abolutely not true. It just shows you that if more Americans actually knew about Ron Paul and what he stood for instead of just listening to the news, he'd be winning this election. Obviously, none of the naysayers watched anything on YouTube. Have you seen 'What we choose to ignore'?
