Some conservatives seem to dislike John McCain. But would they prefer the alternative in the White House?

I keep hearing that some conservatives have a problem with John McCain. They feel that he is not conservative enough for them - whatever that means. McCain has a truly conservative record when it comes to social issues, much more than the other choices the party had for its nominee. And I also keep hearing that the more right wing element of the GOP might not support McCain this Fall. Would these folks prefer the alternative? Would they prefer Hilary or Obama in the White House? I just don't get it.

  1. Ann Coulter even said that she would rather have Hillary in the White house than John McCain. I'm not lying. Google it.
  2. Obama would be OK to me, at least he admits that he is a Democrat;) If it became Hillary vs. McCain, I would have to vote for McCain, I wouldn't vote for Hillary if someone put a gun to my head, lol
  3. I am voting for Mccain, Just saw on the news that daddy Bush just endorsed John Mccain!!!!!
  4. They're trying to drum up support for their favorite candidate, or at least influence McCain's policies, choice of running mate, etc. When the time to vote comes, I'll bet that most of them will either fall in step, or not vote.
  5. Yes some of them would prefer Hillary. She is actually far closer to conservatism than either McCain or Obama. Ain't that a kick in the head?
  6. I am not a big fan of John McCain as he is far to liberal for my tastes. That being said, he is 1000% better than either Hillary or Obama who are flat out socialists. We will be much better off with a liberal conservative than an extremist liberal.
  7. WE WILL SUPPORT ANYONE ON OUR TICKET AS OPPOSED TO SUPPORTING AN INEXPERIENCED COPYCAT AND/OR A CLINTON.
  8. sorry lad, he isn't a conservative but he will get the votes of the conservatives being less liberal is all they will see.
  9. Many conservatives are turning their backs on McCain strictly because of his ideas on immigration and granting amnesty. I don't think they would prefer Hilary or Obama, but are pretty pissed off about his views dealing with illegals.
  10. No. Now see who has a better record at working for humanity.(define humanity properly before you attempt) Is the world not more concerned at mankind than ever?
  11. I think having won the last two presidential elections, the conservatives have let this "good to their heads": they are now over-estimating their own importance in the overall electorate. Only if the two democratic front-runners cannot overcome their enmity for each other, and are not able to see their way to come together, the conservatives this fall are in for a very rude awakening.
