Do you ATHEISTS think that BARACK OBAMA should be president of the United States ?

Hello world. Here we have an articulate, considerate, intelligent, resourceful, visionary type of man. Who is the definition of what this country needs now. And that is change. Change has been what this country is all about. Like getting rid of slavery, creating an industrial revolution. Which kept us from being a 3rd world status, and catapulted us to greatness, unlike any other place in the entire world. In a short period of time, too. Now. With what we have going on now, with this current BUSH ADMINISTRATION. Do you think BARACK OBAMA should be president of the US ? Best answer wins. ***

  1. I think a "yes" would be what you consider a "Best Answer".... ...regardless of what we might think....
  2. I personally think I should be the President.........The way I see it, its the only way you have a fighting chance.
  3. Here's my question: What kind of change? That's all I've heard out of the Obama argument: "Change". Well, that doesn't say very much.
  4. Yes, i do.
  5. They think Ron Paul should be President because they like to have no hope.
  6. I don't live in the states so I could care less... But then again, A token black dude on the U.N. would be kinda cool... Yeah! Put Obama in the White House!
  7. Unfortunately, being Canadian, I don't really get a say. Personally, I'd prefer if Ralph Nader actually won. I think he actually would be the best, most intelligent choice. However, based on the choices you've had available for the past several decades, I think that either McCain or Obama would be better than anybody that's been in charge down there for a long, long time.
  8. I personally have a different preference but I tend to form my firm decision sometime in late summer. It's too early to tell who's policies I feel like I can really get behind. I'm with Pra. I hear a lot of blanketed warm and fuzzy statements from Obama but they equate to a whole hill of beans. HOWEVER, since we are only in primaries I am certainly willing to give him a chance as he delves deeper into explanations.
  9. Nope. I'm for McCain.
  10. Of course.
  11. If there were an atheist candidate with a progressive platform, I would vote for him. But seeing as there are no atheist candidates at all, I'll probably be voting for Barack Obama, not 100% sure yet. I'll wait and see who wins the party endorsements, I try not to waste my votes on people with no chance of winning.
  12. I am hesitant to say yes due to his lack of experience. I can't know for sure what he stands for without a history to back up his claims. He can say anything to get people to vote for him, but actions speak louder than words, and, unfortunately, he hasn't had enough time in the public arena for many actions. If he were to win the democratic nomination, I would definately vote for him, but if he doesn't, I would have to wait until the next presidential election to know for sure how he stands on many issues. I just don't feel safe going in blindly like that.
  13. I would like to see Hillary get the democratic nomination. If she doesn't I will vote for Obama. To tell you the truth I'd vote for my rabbit if it meant keeping those crazy republicans out of office.
  14. I'll take Obama, yeah! Either him or Hillary is peachy keen by me.
  15. their opinions dont automatically have more value than ours...im Methodist and I want Jesus NOONE ELSE
  16. if you have been duped into believing that Barrack Obama is going to change anything for the better, im sorry. that isnt to say Billary or McCant will be any better... i suggest you read up on the creation of the Federal Reserve, the organization known as the World Bank and the history of the economic surge around the world. There has been an all out economic war going on for decades, and no matter who is president, they win, and the people loose. not to mention i dont trust anyone who campaigns on "hope"
  17. I'm atheist, but that's not the reason I thin O'Bama should be president. I think he should because I'm sick and tired of a president who wears his faith on his arm like a battle patch. I want DEMOCRACY to run this country, not a religious fanatic. And I think O'Bama is the best man for the job. He WILL be our next president, and the republicans are in denial of it.
  18. Why do you assume all atheists have the same political agenda?
  19. Personally, no. But the majority seem to want him, so yes, he should be President if that's what the majority wants.
  20. Americans don't vote for the best people qualified for the job. We vote for the people we think is least worse for the job. Do I think Barack Obama should be President? I don't know. But as it stands I don't think a Bush supporter should be President either. So when it comes down to it... Who am I voting for? The person I think will F*ck up the job the least.... If that happens to be Barack Obama... Then I will vote for him.
  21. I'd like Ralph Nader to be president of the United States. But, since he's not a viable candidate, Obama is getting my vote.
  22. NO NO NO!!!! I totally disagree with you. All that stuff you said Obama has all the qualifications and stuff that the U.S. needs is a bunch of bullsh!t. The people that vote for him are out of their mind. He is Muslim- isn't that who we are fighting over seas at this moment? And he is black- there is nothing wrong with that but I don't think the WORLD is ready for a black president. There is too much tension and problems in the world as it is. Let's no throw another one into the mix by electing the wrong candidate. _--* VOTE McCAIN 2008 *-_
  23. NONE of the front-runners SHOULD be president. The best candidates have already been marginalized or intimidated into dropping their campaigns. The mainstream media has done its corporate duty to discredit or ignore anyone who might possibly disturb the status quo and threaten corporate profits. Nader and Cucinich have been dismissed out of hand. Edwards is a reasonable compromise, therefore too boring to succeed. Hillary is trying so hard for centrist independents that she sounds like Bush-lite (and she DOES have a lot of corporate connections). On the Republican side, no one has caught fire. McCain is Bush III but with a distateful "liberal" streak, Ron Paul is a gold-worshipper. Huckabee serves as an indicator of evangelical Christians' true political power, and all the other republicans are determined to stop him. Obama is getting all the interest because he knows how to deliver a speech that will inspire people and he dares to speak of real change, although we don't know whether he's shining us on, he's naive or he can actually make a difference. The best we can hope for is to get the popular guy in and hope that he is as good at picking advisors (and spotting BS) as he is at making speeches.
  24. Not this atheist.
  25. I think you guys are in for a rude awakening if he does get in. it will be the same old policies, regardless of who gets the last veto. They are ALL rich, they don't want to change the status quo
  26. I strongly believe in separation between church and state. Mixing those only gets us in BIG trouble. Although I think he has a religious affiliation I think he is the most objective candidate that we have. Go Barack!
  27. As a non-american type atheist... I'd like to see the religious wingnut... whatever his name is win :) In a few years you'd be no threath to us in the global market... and once you've ruined the next generation with pseudoscience... you'd hopefully NEVER recover. It's time for a change alright... time for the US to dumb down and release their stranglehold on the world.
  28. You realize that atheists don't all think alike politically, right? Given the choice of Obama, Hillary, and McCain, I'll probably vote Libertarian.
