What happened to the Ron Paul revolution?
I expected Ron Paul to be on his way to the White House by now, at least that's what his supporters wanted us to believe. We were all told of this impending revolution and a Tea Party where Americans would rise up like a tsunami and wash away our government as Ron Paul and his supporters march en masse into the White House. What happened? Did his supporters misjudge the kind of change America is looking for?

- It turned out to be a dud, just a lot of hot air and paranoia.
- It's still going his next convention will be held at the local Mickey D's Free Cheese Burgers and Nuggets for everyone!
- The media helped stifle his momentum. They marginalized him by not covering his stories, writing columns about him, or treating him like a viable candidate. Nobody wrote stories like "Who is Chris Dodd?" or "How Ron Paul can transform America." But they covered Hillary, Romney, Obama and McCain like it was their full-time job. The mass media has a ton of influence. Ron Paul's support was on Youtube. But perhaps the biggest impediment was the idiocy of Americans coupled with the fact that he ran as Republican. Conservatives nowadays just go along with whatever all the Republican leaders are saying. Since Paul was the outcast, everybody called him a RINO (Republican in name only). People are idiots. They vote according to party, not according to candidate's plans and views. If Paul had run as a Democrat this year, he would have had a lot more support.
- wow, its amazing how having no expectations whatsoever, after drinking the mainstream media koolaide while placing your hands on your ears and saying "lalalalalalalalala" everytime Ron Paul speaks can bring you to the conclusion that Ron Paul's supporters have all evaporated, I like Ron Paul - but actually, I like the US Constitution even more than I like him. You can count on me and people like me shouting about it for as long we're on this planet - and as long as civil liberties are being pissed on by your neocons and socialists. Ron Paul 08 the Constitution forever.
- That guy took his sign and went home.
- Nothing happened. I still support Ron Paul, and I'm voting for him. The only thing that has "happened " is the media and these corrupt corporate elitist, which have been completely out to smear Ron Paul's name , in Texas and many other states Ron Paul supporters where restricted from voting (some votes not even being counted).Ron Paul "revolution is still going strong no matter what the media saids.
- Alive and well. Perhaps not winning an election this year, but a strong movement none-the-less. Watch for the march on Washington that he's planning and then you'll have the answer to your question.
- I am a Ron Paul supporter, and I had an interesting conversation with my mom about a month ago. We started talking politics, and she's normally pretty active. She asked me who I was supporting, and I told her Ron Paul. She said, and I quote, "Really? I see all these people holding signs on the side of the road, and I hear people talking about him, but I don't know anything about him." And that, my friend, is what happened to the revolution in a nutshell. People nowadays don't want to go and learn for themselves. They don't want to research. They don't want to have to go to a library or fire up their computers. They need to have everything spoonfed to them by the mass media. And Ron Paul has been ignored from day one. When I watched the super Tuesday results I was struck by how his name, while right up there on the big board, was never mentioned. Even when he had double digit percentages the talking suits pretended he didn't exist. The only thing I think we misjudged is just how lazy and apathetic the majority of Americans truly are, and how huge a difference media exposure can be. If they won't talk about a candidate most Americans won't bother to educate themselves. All they know is that his supporters are active, even though they don't know why. Oh, and my mom, once I sent her some links, jumped on the wagon 100%. I don't know too many people who have taken a good long look at Paul and don't consider him to be what America needs.
- Ron Paul was never going to win. Most of his support was online support and even then his supporters were horrible examples for Ron Paul. All they could do was wave around the Constitution and tell everyone that a vote against Ron Paul, was a vote against America. Not only was that un-American itself, but it gives people a sense of extremism. One of the clear signs of a fanatic, is when loyalty to ones country is tied into supporting their ideology. It's called fascism. His call for abolishing the income tax and ending welfare even for the most vulnerable of our society, ended his chance at getting Democrat support. No Democrat would support the suffering of millions, by telling them to beg at some local church for help. His railing against the military and his isolationist views, ended his chance at getting Republican support. No Republican wants to hide under a rock and give up the sovereign right of self-defense and wait for our enemies to hit here at home. Plus his ties to some very nasty organizations through donations he received, would have destroyed his candidacy eventually. His policies alienated way to many people and some of the people he surrounded himself with were not the kind of people that Americans find all that endearing.
