8. Well this whole election should be more than just about democrat and republican. All I've seen in my life time is gang like "factionism" among elitest and a bunch of hate mongers on all sides of the spectrum. Most of us have forgetten that we have problems to solve and don't have time for this. I myself as an Independent Progressive am not impressed when I see some of the Democrats just bash Republicans for the sake of them being Republican or conservative. Especially when a good percentage of them turn right around and do the exact same thing and then make an excuse for why they did it. If Democrats as a whole were so against the Iraq war, why did a healthy percentage of them voteed for it 5 years ago? I don't agree with conservatism that much. But I understand It's just a political philosophy that focuses on other priorities. It just as pointless when some of the Republicans yap about how Democrats are unpatriotic and dumb. Oh really?! Look at this current president and see how dumb you look now after voting for him. To my "smart Republicans", tell me how is it you have a frontrunner that admittedly claim he knows close to nothing about the economy at a time in which we are going through economic hardships? That doesn't sound smart to me. If Republicans are so patriotic, why is it that most of them are in favor of giving tax breaks to companies that sell the jobs of hard working American overseas? That doesn't seem patriotic to me. If Republicans are so patriotic, why is it that a good percentage of their followers think it is okay to disrespect other fellow Americans because on their religious beliefs? What does Mitt Romney belief in Mormonism got to do with him stabilizing the economy? Nothing. What does Barack Obama name got to do with me keeping my job and giving me access to better paying jobs? Nothing. Last time I've check, the first amendment of the constitution promised us Americans we can believe whatever we want to believe in. The bottom line to what Sen. Obama is saying is that we need to focus on what is important. We need to focus on how we can become a stronger, more unified country. He may or may not just be blowing hot air. However, the man is right whether he means it or not. If he means what he says, good for him. That's what a president and leader of the free world suppose believe and focus on. If he doesn't, it will catch up to him in the end.
