In fact, never before has the middle name of a U.S. senator gained as much print coverage as that of Senator Barack Hussein Obama of Illinois. To make matters worse, the similarity between "Obama" and "Osama" has led to all kinds of jokes and media slips that are quite revealing of the continuing apprehensions about Islam and Muslims that so many citizens continue to feel across the land . 3. Well, heres the reason. The 9/11 tragedy had brought great detriment to America. The terrorists were of "Muslim" religion. So because of this, it kind of brings back bad memories and in a way, kind of makes muslims look bad. All because of these horrible men. Barack Obama was born and raised a muslim. So he technically is a muslim. There is nothing wrong with that it is just the big effect of 9/11. (I have nothing against Muslims, its just what i think) Hope this kind of helps :) Lana
4. A muslim stated here in yahoo answer. If your father is a muslim your children are also muslims. Obama's father is a muslim so Barack Obama is a muslim. His stepfather is also a muslim. Barack Obama grew up and attended a muslim school in indonesia. So in a sense if your father is a muslim even if he named you John Doe or a non muslim name you are still a muslim. In short you follow your fathers religion. So Barack Obama is a muslim. I don't know if Obama converted or muslims are allowed to convert. A muslim will know for sure about this law.
