Would you consider the 2008 Presidential Election as the most important election of the decade? Why or why not

The 2008 United States Presidential Election is an important election for America because they are electing the 44th President of the United States of America. In November, American from sea to shining sea and from coast to coast will elect a new president to replace George W. Bush. Out of the three presidential elections happening this decade, would you consider the 2008 election the most important election of the decade or would you consider the 2000 or 2004 election the most important election of the decade?

  1. I think we have a historical primary this year. We not only have a P.O.W. running, but also a female and a "black" man.
  2. historical, i agree. End the clinton crappola. Vote Obama
  3. I see the 2000 vote as being the most important vote of the decade. Here is why... - As George W Bush states, his presidency will be debated for many many years to come. - From the way he won the electoral vote and not the popular vote - From the way he responded to 9/11 as a president. - The way he attacked Iraq unilaterally without the UNs approval - The way we didn't find any WMDs in Iraq and killed Suddam - The way we didn't get the organizer of 9/11...Osama Bin Laden - The way he took the surplus to a deficit and killed the economy All of this was a result of the election of 2000. The major importance of the election of 2008 is that the new president will have the clean up the mess from G W Bush. Which originate from the election of 2000. So the election of 2000 was the most important of the decade.
  4. 2000. Without that election, or with a different outcome, we would not be fighting 2 wars, while giving tax-breaks to rich people. No fan of Al Gore, that's for sure, but if the 2000 Republican nominating process had come out differently, - if McCain had been nominated instead of Geo Bush - McCain would not have led us into war on filmsy evidence. In retrospect, the 2000 primary in South Carolina might be considered the most important election of the decade. That was the election where a whisper campaign was started by Karl Rove and Company to spread the rumor that John McCain's adoptted daughter was the product of an affair he had with a black woman. McCain lost the vote inSC, and while he never had much money, the loss in SC killed him. Without the 2000 election, we wouldn't be in two wars the economy wouldn't be in the shape it is in and therefore the huge need for "change" wouldn't be rushing ascross the land. I don't mean to disparage Hillary or Barak, but in this case, the unintended consequence of electing Geo Bush in 2000 will lead the country to make a decision it would not have made otherwise.
