What religion is Barack Obama?
I am reading on here that he is a muslim, true?
Public Comments
- True. He is Islamic.
- False. He is a member of the United Church of Christ. Therefore, he is Christian.
- Not true. He's Christian. (there are a lot of liars on here, see first answer, and more to follow)
- If you are that naive that you get your information from Y!A...I have a voting secret for you. When you go to vote, you are voting for who you DON'T want to win...you know, like Survivor. So if you support Hillary, make sure to mark Obamas name down when you go to vote ;)
- I think the voting age should be raised to 21, these 18 to 20 year old voters that are comming out to vote are clueless to the real world. This is probably the most that this age group has ever voted.
- He flip flops. I have no idea--one day hes Muslim the next he is christian, and the other day he is African christian. God who knows???
- I read on the internet that decharmingprince is a devil worshipper, so it must be true.
- False, he answered that when he got e-mails saying he was muslim. He's for the Church for Christ. He's not a Muslim.
- No, his father was. He was raised by his mother's family though. He is Christian.
- you honestly believe what negative people on yahoo says, that shows me your not to bright
- No he is a Christian, the Muslim thing is a false rumor
- He states it on his website.
- Yes sir!!
- heathen devil worshiper
- Why is religion relevant to the issue? Guys like Huckabee use it to get votes just because he is Christian. Where did that get us with Bush. I just want someone who will do a good job. I dont care what their religion is.
- Christian. I have heard interviews with the pastor of his church. His father was Muslim, but he basically abandoned him as a child. His mother raised him Christian. I disagree with every policy of Obama's, but let's not crucify him for a brief encounter with Islam. He is Christian.
- He is Muslim, though he has tried to convince some that he joined a Christian church. Something those that believe this don't understand though, is that one is not allowed to convert FROM Islam - especially publicly. I know this statement will be disputed, but if you read the Koran, it is in there. And while his father didn't raise him, his step-father did-- in an Islamic State where he attended an Islamic school. I don't remember his name, but there was a man in the news who had left his home country and, while living in Europe converted to Christianity. He wanted to return home, but his own family turned him over to authorities because of his conversion. This isn't a rare occurence. My parents lived in Saudi for nearly 10 years. The stories they have told me are absolutely incredulous, and sad. There is a lot that happens over there that we just have no clue about.
- His father is a non-practicing Muslim. His mother is a Catholic. He is a member of the United Church of Christ. I don't support him, but I support truth, and I can't believe there is still a debate on this. Regardless, people need to understand there is a stark difference between Muslims and the Radical Islamist Terrorists that are always in the news. Ignorance surely must be bliss...
