Why does Mitt Romney think that he has to refer to Ronald Reagan with every sentance he speaks?
Mitt Ronald Reagan Romney seems to think that if he simply says "Ronald Reagan this, and Ronald Reagan that", that voters will pretend that HE is Ronald Reagan? In interviews with any news channel they say to Mitt: "Gov. Romney, what is your position on foreign policy?". Romney responds by saying "Well, Ronald Reagan used to say this and that, and Ronald Reagan did that, and Ronald Reagan Ronald Reagan Ronald Reagan." Does he think that if he says Ronald Reagan 50 million times that we will think that Romney IS Ronald Reagan?

- Maybe he thinks he is inferior to Regan. Personally i think Regan was a fantastic president. Mabey instead of saying his name continuously he should only say his name occasionally.....? i think so
- What's amusing is that Romney didn't even support Reagan in the election. http://youtube.com/watch?v=7hBX8g9Wuis&rel=1 Facts are stubborn things.
- Every one has their own opinion, is that not free speech is all about ??
- because he can't think... how can u be a president if u can't think? better ronald reagan run for president again if its like that.
- GOP = Reagan Mitt Romney says Reagan = GOP likes Mitt Makes sense? Good. Vote Molly.
- No. He knows how the republicans revered Ronald Reagan, and using his name brings back those memories of previous elections. It's known as name dropping. Sometimes it works. Those who were loyal to Ronald Reagan might be influenced by that association.
- mc cain is an asshole for compaing himself to other great presidents go HILLARY
- it IS rather smarmy...kind of like how obama keeps babbling about jfk...truth be told, jfk was NOWHERE near as liberal as people like to imagine...his daughter may be an omabaniac, but i doubt he would agree with her pick... as for romney, he's just grasping at straws, re-arranging the deck chairs on a sinking ship
- political strategy
- Because, to a lot of people, Reagan is God. Romney is working that. =============== Life is so simple, but we insist on making it complicated Confucius 551 - 479 BC =============== Peace Jim .
- He's not the only one. During the debates the candidates invoked Ronald Reagan constantly. Heck, I think Giuliani just wrote "9/11" on the palm of one hand and "Ronald Reagan" on the palm of his other hand as crib notes. Why do they do this? Keep in mind the purpose of campaigning right now is to get the nomination of their specific party. Republicans hold Reagan's memory in high regard- there was even serious discussion of putting his face on Mount Rushmore!- by comparing themselves to Ronald Reagan, they stand a chance of defining the party around themselves. That is, the nation's Republicans will see R.R. reflected in the candidates and support (that individual). Interestingly enough, the only Republican candidate who actually has the right to lay claim to Ronald Reagan's legacy is Dr. Ron Paul. There are numerous photographs of the two together, and Reagan supported Ron Paul's call to return to a gold standard in our monetary policy. Ron Paul's strict Constitutionalism also relates well to Reagan; whose strength was the fact he had a strong moral center and believed that government's role should be limited. Reagan and Paul were close colleagues. The other candidates can't say that. www.RonPaul2008.com www.prisonplanet.com
- because he's a Republican?
- Because he is pandering to the idiots who don't realize that Reagan was an average man and not that great of a president. If he is following Reagan who invested all the money in the cold war (you know defending us against people who didn't even have enough money to make bread in the end...let alone a bomb?) God help us all.
- In case you don't know, Ronald Reagan is a champion to conservatives. They ALL invoke his name too much for my taste. I was 9 years old when I first remember Ronald Reagan. I decided then I was a conservative. Some of us were completed transformed by the man. I'm a Romney supporter and if this is the best you can come up with, you need to go back to the drawing board.
