Will John McCain reach out to Mitt Romney?

The Conservative PAC was overwhelming today in both its support of Mitt Romney and its dissatisfaction with John McCain. Romney has a much more diverse base than Mike Huckabee, and has consistently taken the conservative vote away from McCain in states where they've been competitive with each other, including Arizona. If McCain wants to appeal to conservatives, then shouldn't he start with Mitt Romney?

Public Comments

  1. I wouldn't vote for McCain even if he mad Romney his VP.
  2. no mitt romney=evil he heeheh eheheh go team mcturd go
  3. I agree. My thoughts are McCain only wants one term any way and Romney walks right in 2012.
  4. He will take someone else I'm pretty sure. None of the candidates could stand Romney from what I hear.
  5. Yes, then i might be motivated to support him.
  6. Not as a running mate, I can't see McCain wanting Romney as a running mate or Romney wanting to be a Vice President. Neither have Vice Presidential ambitions. Will they put aside any personal differences for the good of the Republican party? Yes.
  7. Time for a Romney/Ron Paul independant run...Now that's change...
  8. McCain does not "want[] to appeal to conservatives", he just wants their votes. Beyond that, he will just continue to stab them in their collective back.
  9. I believe Mac will reach out to Romney to help bridge the gap in the GOP. However, I don't think he will be the VP nominee. For whatever reason, Romney doesn't seem to "play well with others" on the campaign trail. Even though they disagree on issues McCain, Huckabee, Gulianni (sp?), Hunter, and even Ron Paul have all managed to be friendly. Not so with Romney. By the way....how do we know Romney is any more of a conservative than any of the other candidates? If you research his record while Gov or when he ran against Kennedy, he had really different ideas than he does now. I just don't know what he really believes and that bothers me.
  10. No, he should tell these boneheads, "I'm the nominee of this party, I'm the leader of this party, and I'm the only one who can beat either Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama, so if you don't want either of them to be President, shut the hell up and vote for me!" McCain is a Goldwater, Nixon, Reagan, Quayle, Gingrich, Dubya, Cheney right-winger who is absolutely unacceptable to anyone who believes that a nation is measured not by how much we give to those who have much, but by how much we give to those to have too little. So if he's not good enough for these right-wing fanatics, they should stay home and watch Hillary or Obama rebuild this country in such a way that they'll see just how out of it and un-American they are. Romney's a moron. The only smart thing he's done in this campaign is drop out. You know why he's the FORMER Governor of Massachusetts? Because he knew that if he ran for re-election, he'd lose. Deval Patrick would have cleaned his clock like he did to NittWitt Mitt's lieutenant governor, Kerry Healey.
