Why does John McCain do so bad with the voters who know him best?

However you try and parse it Hispanic voters have again rewarded both Amnesty again candidates, John McCain and Hillary Clinton. In race after race, wherever there is enough Hispanics like in New York, New Jersey, Arizona, or California, they have voted as a block for the main Amnesty again candidates. McCain and Clinton owe them everything. They made them the front runners and have kept them there even when other voters insisted on change. This is clearly the case in McCain’s home state Arizona where his fellow Republicans, the people who know him best, voted against McCain. Without the votes of his powerful illegal alien supporters he would have been creamed in his own state. Counting Democrats McCain received about 1 of 4 votes cast yesterday in Arizona. What kind of damage has the proud maverick turned proud true conservative caused his own state?

Public Comments

  1. Because they know the "real" McCain.
  2. McCain did very well in his home state. (Forty-eight percent to Romney's thirty-four percent.) Illegal immigration is obviously an issue for Republicans living in a border state like Arizona. You also have to consider that Mormons in Arizona (and many western states) have played an important role for Romney. All that being said, McCain pulled out the victory, despite his position on illegal immigration.
  3. I think any other candidate would be glad to "do so bad" as McCain.
  4. I think you answered your own question. Those who know him are not going to vote for him. McCain isn't tied too tight and I believe that if he would be elected President it would be the end of the Republican party.
  5. McCain is a sad story for the GOP. He won primarily "blue" states that will go to the Dem's in the national election. Huckabee was very selfish in terms of staying in the race splitting the vote for the conservative. Romney, BTW was the only one that was going to deal with the issue of immigration. You get what you pay for. Now we'll end up under Hillary as this country creates tax poor citizens paying for the services of those that broke the law. How is that a victory for the GOP?
