Would you vote for Mitt Romney even though he is a Mormon?

Imagine you were going to vote for a republican, even if you never would. Would the fact that Mitt Romney is a Mormon make you not vote for him?

Public Comments

  1. what does his religion have to do with anything?
  2. I dont care about religious beliefs..as long as the believer isnt a braindead fundamentalist(like bush)..but the religious right considers mormonism a cult so the poor guy doesnt have a chance
  3. I vote the person not the religion
  4. His religion is irrelevant just like Clinton's gender and Obama's race.
  5. I'd vote for Mitt BECAUSE he's Morman. Wht wouldn't you want a moral and ethical man in office. We won't have to worry about him getting a Lewinski in the oval office instead of working.
  6. As I believe that religion has no place in politics, I would not make it a condition of my vote. As long as he didn't make religion (any religion) a part of his campaign, I wouldn't make it a part of my vote...
  7. I plan on voting for a Republican, but not Mitt. His support of a mandatory medical insurance bill in his state has branded him as a socialist in my book. He'd institute the same idiocy on a national level if he took office. NO THANKS! BTW: I'm a non-practicing Mormon.
  8. People voted for J. Kennedy even though he was a Catholic, so what? Yes, if I think he is the best candidate I would vote for him.
  9. I can promise you religion does not play a part in any vote I cast.
  10. The fact that Romney is a Mormon would have no effect on my decision to vote for him. When you get a little older and get out into the world you will find that your irrational fear of people who practice other religions is something that is likely to hold you back, prevent you from having a better life, and limit your ability to understand the world around you. Why heck you may even gain enough wisdom to someday be a Republican. My best wishes for your speedy recovery from a life time of liberal bigotry
  11. I really wish an aethiest would run
  12. i would not let the fact that he is a Mormon stop me from voting for him, it is still to early to even start casting my vote though so i reserve judgment till later
  13. I would vote for him because i think a Mormon would make a GREAT president
  14. religion no problem
  15. No, I couldn't vote for a Moron.
  16. I don't look at a candidate's religion. I look at how they stand on the issues. I vote for the candidate that comes closest to my own beliefs on the issues. We will not likely agree on everything but whoever comes closest gets my vote. I don't look at gender or race either.
  17. I would not care. His political experience does not champion Mormon or fundamentalist ideals... if he did then I would not vote for him. I think his record has been very respectful of seperation of church and state. But I would never vote for him for other reasons.
  18. In spite of the very strange beliefs that this parculiar sect has He is, I believe a good man and would not let his faith interfere.
  19. I wouldn't vote for Romney not because he is a Mormon but because he is a hypocrite.
  20. Sorry, but to be honest I wouldn't vote for him because he's a Mormon.
  21. I'm still undecided on Romney... sometimes I like him then other times I see him as the republican version of the moron Kerry... as far as religion that should have no bearing on who we elect... just as abortion and gay rights should have no bearing on who we elect as president... these things do nothing but create divisions and create a society where people vote based solely on someone's stance on these social issues that have absolutely nothing to do with how they will lead our country or address the real problems we have... show me your plans for economy, taxes, foreign policy, immigration, national security, welfare, social security and leave the BS out of it
  22. I'd vote for him if he were the Republican nominee. gw
  23. They questioned JFK because he was Catholic. Religion has nothing to do with the capabilities of a candidate. BTW, MORMONS ARE NOT WEIRD! Hey Vincent, we are not a sect! We are a religion that believes in Christ - Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints!
