Govenor Mitt Romney, Mormon.?

Govenor Mitt Romney wants to be the next President. Should the fact that he is a Mormon be of concern? Just wondering.

1. When asked about his definition of marriage, Romney said " marriage is between a man and a woman....and a woman...and a woman"
2. Everybody is something...even if that something is nothing (atheist). I do not believe it should be a factor. However, I think that the President should lead from a secular stand point. I do not think that religion should get in the way of the US Presidency.
3. why would it be of concern? would it be of concern if he was any other form of christianity?
4. The Mormon religion has some rather unusual beliefs. It holds that Jesus moved to England after He was crucified, and married English women there, giving rise to that very intelligent people. Then He visited America and taught the native Americans how to build pyramids. All of this was conveyed on gold tablets brought by the Angel Moroni to Joseph Smith, but they disappeared before anybody else ever saw them. These are articles of deeply held Faith in the Mormon church. Maybe its true, tho the Holy Bible counsels all to not add a single word, or change a single word, in the Holy Scriptures. So it is not unreasonable to be concerned about Mr. Romney's religion, especially if he plans on relying on any of those beliefs to govern those of us who do not happen to subscribe to them.
5. No. His religious beliefs cannot be imposed on anyone. This is a free country (to certain extent at least).
6. I'd be more concerned about the fact that he was an ineffective Governor.
7. If we voted based on religion I suppose I would have to vote for Hillary Clinton sense she is a Methodist and I am a Methodist. And that is NOT going to happen. Mormons are as diverse as any other religious group, so that wouldn’t even be an issue to me. I would have to look at his character, at least what can be gleamed of it from his public service.
8. jxt, I think you might have some sources mixed up on that... The Book of Mormon (translated from the Gold Tablets) teaches that after His Resurrection, Jesus appeared to a lot of people across the world, including the Americas. Since the gold tablets were written in the Americas (between 600BC and 400AD), it only gives an account of when Jesus went to the Americas. It says he stayed 40 days and taught the fulfillment of the Mosaic law and His role as Savior of the world. The pyramids don't have anything to do with Jesus, other than the fact that some small groups built them as Temples. As for Mitt Romney, he has a proven track record in Government, Corporate, and Charity/Volunteer organizations and has been fiscally and socially responsible in managing/governing people of all political parties and value systems. The fact that he is Mormon wouldn't play in to my decision at all, positively or negatively. I will judge him only on his merits and integrity, which is what we should do anyway.
9. McCain, Guliani and Romney. Which one has only had one wife?
10. His religious faith should not be a factor, we are voting for a public office, not a church office.
