No election for Student council president?

I decided to run for student council president, but then found out that the teacher involved wont be having an election, but will be deciding on two co-presidents herself. She will be using two of last years student council students and picking them for president. Then i find out im the only one in the school running against these two girls from last year.I didnt think this was right so im running now for sure. It has become a matter of fairness now, it just isnt right the way its being run. The problem is, that this teacher as of right now is very angrey with me for ruining her plans for student council and causing trouble by having an election. Is it still worht persuing this fairness thing, if i could win and have to work side by side these people. When im forcing them all into an election they dont want?

1. I was a student council sponsor for one year only, but this is what we do. The officers are voted on by the previous year's council. So it would be impossible for someone who has not been on student council before to be president. However, can you not run for a class representative? Honestly, I don't think you would want to jump right in to being president if you've never been on the council before. Even if this doesn't work out, you obviously want to be involved in your school, so look at other options for leadership. Good luck.
