Obama on Important Issues?!?
I am doing a social issues project on Barack Obama, as well as learning about him for my own personal benefit. I have researched around, but there seems to be a lot of information, but so much of it seems to either be buttered up by supporters or negatively speaking of him by nonsupporters, which of course makes sense, because its an election! But the problem is, that i am having a hard time knowing what the overall true facts are... What are the important issues that he stands for? What are some things that he is not working to improve that he should be? How does he stand on issues such as drugs, gay marriage, abortion, education? Why should someone vote for him? Why should someone not vote for him? Thank you so much, I would greatly appreciate any and all answers =)

- I'm sorry I don't support him, but I do think he is the most sincere guy running but just not want I want in a President
- Here's is his record http://www.selectsmart.com/president/2008/comparethem.html
- I think people should vote for him because he's never been sleeping in any meeting while the presenter is talking. Look this guy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4zgXVdSG_k. I think you should not vote for him if you don't trust him.

- I will not vote for him for 2 reasons. 1) He is far too liberal for my taste; 2) He has never held any executive position and is way too inexperienced to handle issues like terrorism should we be attacked. At least Hillary would have a direct line to Bill who has dealt with terrorists to a degree. Now is not the time to "try" a new face.
- I am sure you can go on line under obama, and he has a book out of himself. I would also maybe ask the people of Illinois on how they feel about him, and what important changes he has made in that state, and what changes he has made on the issues you have asked about. I am not a obama supporter, but I hope that helps. Good Luck.
- Check out this website: http://www.selectsmart.com/president/2008/comparethem.html It will give you a completely nonpartisan voting record. Don't follow the media or most news articles - they are very often colored by the "hot topic" at the moment. This website shows you how Obama (and all of the other candidates) have voted on issues prior to this election. Past voting records are a very good indicator for how a candidate will continue to vote on certain issues once they are in the White House.
