What do you think of this anti war speech by Barack Obama?

Keep in mind that this was 2002... http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Barack_Obama's_Iraq_Speech

  1. It's one of the reasons I'm voting for him.
  2. I don't listen to Obama.
  3. For what? 2 or 3 years that Saddam thumbed his nose at the UN. I don't agree with the war in Iraq by I also don't agree with that dishonest ex-crackhead from Illinois. In regard to his "I'd take up arms myself" bit. The only ones Obama would take up arms against are "white people" if the propaganda being espoused by his "church" is any indication.
  4. "So it’s not clear to me what differences we’ve had since I’ve been in the Senate. I think what people might point to is our different assessments of the war in Iraq, although I’m always careful to say that I was not in the Senate, so perhaps the reason I thought it was such a bad idea was that I didn’t have the benefit of U.S. intelligence. And, for those who did, it might have led to a different set of choices. So that might be something that sort of is obvious. But, again, we were in different circumstances at that time: I was running for the U.S. Senate, she had to take a vote, and casting votes is always a difficult test." 5. Good if he can put his words into action if he gets elected!
  6. Wow, that's great! Thanks for the link.
  7. What else does he have. He was only present in illinois Senate and he was a frickin community organizer and jail house lawyer in another capacity. Any civil right leader in Atlanta that attended Morehouse and worked during Dr. King;s time had that experience. He has no international experience other than living in Indonesia as a child, he understand the politics of Illinois but does he truly understand the politics of disenfranchised. His best friend is a Chinese for God sake.
  8. That's an enlightening speech, but talk is cheap. If he been a U.S. senator, under pressure from the people he represents, under pressure from fellow senators, under pressure to appear to be patriotic; he might have been singing a different tune.
  9. I think it's great and that's one of the reasons why I support him!
  10. his stance on the war is the reason why he's beating Clinton!!!!!!
  11. It's easy to make decisions when you know you don't have to be held accountable for anything. He wasn't privy to any of the information senators had. I guess those 130 times in the Illinois senate when he voted present shows you how he votes when he knows he'll be held accountable. My guess is if he were in the senate at that time, he would have been absent for the vote so that nothing could be held against him when he ran for president. The guy is spineless and that's the last thing democrats need for a nominee.
  12. That's one of the reasons I'm voting for Obama. He's a great candidate who will be about change for this country. America needs it and our troops need to come home.
  13. Obama! Obama! Obama Gravel '08
