Mitt Romney what are you opinions on the debated campaign issues regarding him, is he a bust or a not?

and also, how much money has he raised for his campaign?

Public Comments

  1. A little too early to tell that. If he becomes the candidate, he's got my vote. Whoever has the republican nomination will have my vote.
  2. Voting for Romney would be just like voting for Bush again: He's a big business man, he is for raising taxes: The combined state and local tax burden in Massachusetts increased during Romney's governorship. He is for the disaster going on in Iraq, soon to be spreading to Iran: Romney supported the invasion of Iraq, and supports the troop surge and wishes to increase the size of the military by at least 100,000 troops. Romney signed the Massachusetts health reform law which requires nearly all Massachusetts residents to buy health insurance coverage or else face a substantial penalty in the form of an additional income tax assessment. The bill also establishes means-tested state subsidies for people who do not have adequate employer insurance and who make below an income threshold, by using funds previously designated to compensate for the health costs of the uninsured. Romney welcomes increased legal immigration and supports giving "a biometrically-enabled and tamperproof card to non-citizens and... a national database for non-citizens in order to reduce illegal immigration. And that would be, the REAL ID? http://www.ncsl.org/realid/ He would just follow Bush's same platform and wouldn't do America or the world any good.
  3. I think he is the best candidate for the job. John McCain already said in South Carolina that he knew nothing about financial matters. Mike Huckabee wants to put taxes on everything and call it fair. Ron Paul just squeals about the war and immigration. Giuliani hasn't said a lot, except he had a sanctuary city, and was tough on crime. The war in Iraq is very important, but so is food on the table, and a house to live in that is heated.
  4. The only one of those damn republican worth anything is Ron Paul.
  5. If Romney is the next Bush like Panny Proud says, then he'll have my vote for sure!!! I already voted for him in the primaries in my state and hope he makes it to the White House! He's the most conservative left and that's why the media is keeping him "in the shadows" lest he get some extra momentum!
  6. He is a serious contender, just look at his total votes, delegate count, and how he's doing in Florida. Plus he has arguably the best organized and well run campaign in the Republican party. In answer to your second question, he has raised $44 million which doesn't included his own personal contribution. That amount ties for the most money raised with Giuliani among Republicans. John McCain is 3rd with $30 million.
  7. well to me he is a bust - his platform is minimal filled with sound bites - he has some serious faults in his record which pony pointed out - he is better than Mccain but that isnt saying much - he will supposedly contribute 50 million dollars to his own campaign which to me also raises questions (does he want a return on investment ) he is a very very distant second to Paul who has the record to back his stances and his platform is all steak and no sizzle - right now for me Paul is the best candidate in the primary and for the country at this current time
  8. Mitt lost a lot of respect with his "who let the dogs out" attempt at a rap song during a MLK stop with some school kids. You should see the video. Search it on youtube. Last night it already had 200,000 views. It was so lame!
  9. He's a winner. He's strong on a large number of issues, and where he isn't strong, he's prepared to listen to his advisors, whom we can trust to be picked for their qualifications. It's the pattern he followed as a business leader, which is why he has been so successful. He's raised more money than any other Republican candidate, even if you subtract the amount of money he himself has loaned to his campaign. Third quarter results showed him tied with Rudy Giuliani for contributions from donors, and I'm sure the last month or so has been the tie-breaker.
  10. He criticized universal health care... but proposed in Massachusetts that everyone "BUY" health care... or else face a fine. So what if you're a poor, single mother? Don't be Obama and simply make health care affordable... be a Clinton or an Edwards... get universal. Also Ron Paul said it best... there was no need for a war. We didn't go to Iraq to fight for evil (terrorism). We went to Afghanistan to fight that. But for Iraq... 1.) Iraq war was a personal war between Bush Jr. and Saddam. George W. Bush wanted to get par with Saddam for Saddam's alleged attempts at killing "his daddy" back in April 1993. 2.) WMDs were a easy excuse for this war... because had the American people known the truth (the above in number 1)... we would never be in this war. 3.) CNN.com and theage.com.au both coincide with the fact that Bush repeatedly mentioned that Saddam tried to kill his daddy. theage.com.au also continues to mention that although unaware to many Americans, Saddam had a plot to kill Bush Jr's wife. So why do you think Bush wouldn't want to go to war with Iraq... he has a personal excuse. If someone tried killing my dad, I'd do the same thing (on personal level, not take America to war). 4.) For you conservatives who call me a stubborn liberal... then how about support President Clinton for his actions to send missiles over an a private visit to Iraqi Intelligence Services, at headquarters in Iraq as seen in a document reported by the Washington Post back in June of 1993. 5.) And then again... we are also in Iraq for the problems that Sr. couldn't end, so we have Jr. there, again! 6.) So for the Iraq war... does Romney and McCain want us to win? If us winning is the case... what does this mean for the Iraqi government? We can't win a war for another country that's in the middle of a civil war. They need their own order. How can we help resolve issues over seas in the Middle East between people of the same country... when we can't even resolve issues of our own people back in our OWN country, America. McCain and Romney are horrible Republican candidates who do not support "traditional" conservative views. When you wage a war that's unneeded, that's often seen as a Democratic move, not Republican. The main idea of Republicans is to stay "isolated", to not raise taxes, to not be involved in tycoons. In my own personal opinion of what I saw in the Florida caucus, I feel the only "true" Republican in the running is Dr. Ron Paul. McCain and Romney just want support so they can be another Bush... another greedy tycoonist who just wants the government to benefit themselves. ALSO!!! This document shows you that people are up to what Bush's motives for the Iraq Invasion in his impeachment: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Movement_to_impeach_George_W._Bush
