John Mccain not fit to be president?
I am sick and tired of people saying that being a war hero doesnt make you a president. Say that to george washington or dwight eisenhower. Yes, there have been some that have been a dissapointment like grant, but serving your country no matter what the cost, is a big asset, bc it gives candidates the confidence that you will country before anything else. So if a war hero is not a good credential than what is. Being very articulate like richard nixon? Or to look presidential like john f kennedy or bill clinton? Or to have great ideas for the country like andrew jackson? all of these qualities are destructive, and i dont think stance on issues should be a consideration for president, than anyone from the electorate can be president, but you have accomplished, like not only prepared to give up your life for a country but to be tortured for a country for five years. Another thing is if you think age is a factor, than say that to england who elected churchill at 77 and to vajpayee ofindia

- Hillary Clinton is fit to be President.
- Yes, he is intemperate and a warmonger
- Its a plus, especially in time of war, but it doesn't mean everything. If you don't agree with his views, your not going to vote for him. That simple.
- No, He's a John, but no John Kennedy. and He lied to win Florida and Rush Limbaugh is right, he's a Liberal and he wants Amnesty. He's going to drop sooner or later. and he's a WAR Monger. No intentional morbid prophecy intended.
- Sorry - McCain is TOO old. and I'm not impressed by his military service only because so many others have given life, limb, and as in his case, years of service just like he did. Amongst those millions really, are men and women whose names we do not know and will never know. Sorry. And no, I'm not a democrat. I'm young and smart and see a marvelous vision for this country which reaches far beyond war and strife and destruction of other nations under the guise of providing "freedom and liberty"...
- Less jobs and more war. That's his policy. I do believe he will win the GOP nomination. Florida was a big win for him. And he will probably win California where he has a huge following among Repubs. Romney is a used car salesman. He will say what ever you want to hear to get you to vote for him. At least, McCain will tell the truth most of the time.
- I agree, Mccain looks like a hobo. Hilary '08!
- Being a war hero isn't the only thing to consider. What about the stand a candidate takes on issues? I'm talking about their actions (voting records, etc..), not the campaign bull, which most candidates put out there. McCain, on many issues is saying he takes a certain stand, yet has voted the opposite. There's only a couple of current running candidates that even come close to not wavering on their stance on issues when it comes to what they're saying and what they're voting record is... Clinton and Paul. The rest have totally changed what they're saying from to beginning of their campaign until now to meet more with public approval. Sorry, that type of candidate is not for me.
- Being a war hero is one of the highest qualifications that one could give to be president. And 8 years ago I would have voted for McCain over Bush in a heart beat, but since then McCain has gone over to the dark side. Together as father and son he and Kennedy are trying to undermine what makes America, America. As for Winston Churchill, The parliamentary system is entirely different form the US. In the parliamentary system if at anytime someone is deemed to no longer be able to perform his duties he can be given a vote of no confidence and wiThein weeks they could have a new PM. Here it once elected he is in office until the next election, or in extreme circumstances th VP would take over. For many this would not be ideal. So really there is no comparison. McCain's age is a legitimate concern for someone in our system.
- look at it this way, it's simply wasn't fair the democrats got the woman and the black Muslim guy and the republicans had nobody, but now they got the crazy old guy, Ain't it cool.////
- McCain is a man in love with his country. What he must have endured being a guest at Hanoi Hilton, seeing the evil of men there and ingraditude of his nation at home. Having the character to serve his country and put her first..He is leader.
- Barack Hussein Obama,Jr., is unfit to occupy the oval office. The questions re his drug use, cocaine, marijuana, and other drugs have not been answered sufficiently to remove the suspicion of continued use. Obama has not passed a drug test, and this should be required of any candidate seeking the presidency. Obama's illegal acceptance of money and real estate from the Chicago slumlord and Muslim, Tony Rezko, has not been fully exposed or revealed to the public. Obama's disrespect and disdain for the American flag are a matter of record and fact, but his excuse for these unpatriotic acts are not acceptable. Source: Time, October 1, 2007, edition., and http://newsbusters.org, and http://barackobamacandidate.org/ for the facts. Ted Kennedy's endorsement may cause more damage than benefit, as people continue to remember the drunken Kennedy, the night after the drowning of Mary Jo Kopechne (sp), and how damage control and lies by his friends saved his political career and the possiblity of going to prison! Hussein Obama is a political polly-parrot, chanting and ranting, reciting rehersed, prepared speils, devoid of substance. Have you noticed Obama's pause every 3 or 4 words during his rants, the difficulty being unable to follow the teleprompter. Obama's rhetoric is empty, shallow, and without specifics. Obama would be more effective as a high school cheerleader. The oval office is not the place for Affirmative Action placement or on-the-job training. Obama has refused to explain his membership in a racist church, headed by an anti-semitic pastor, Jeremiah Wright, who reveres Black separatist Louis Farrakhan, another Muslim.
- Thanks for your views on Mccain. I've heard plenty from the dems supporters, but not any from the other ones.
