If Mitt Romney is elected President, will he be the first President with a religious deferment during war?

Mitt Romney and Huckabee both received a religious deferment to get out of Vietnam. Will this be a first for a US President? NONAME - I'm not a Clinton supporter, but he had a college deferment. Romney - Draft Deferment: Vietnam 4-D (missionary deferment) Religious Mission: Mormon France (1966-68)

  1. who cares as I, personally, am much more interested in what he will do" as President!
  2. He won't be elected President, so he will be the first for nothing. Seriously, he has no chance and if he wins the Republican nomination, it would guarantee the Democrats a win. McCain is the only Republican who has any chance of beating the Democratic candidate.
  3. To answer your question; Yes, But since we have already had our first draft dodger as president (Clinton) does anything other than that matter?
  4. What in the heck is a religious deferment? The military allows such a thing? Wouldn't God call out to them to serve their country? Guess maybe this is what prompted Huckabee's minister career.
