Is Intelligence the same as Wiseness? Is there good and bad in everyone?
Can you really know whether someone is more good than bad or visa versa. The jury is still, out to lunch on George W Bush. The fact the he plays the fool even though his test results have shown that he is intelligent, shows no one knows the man. I put it to you, that the U.S. public should ask themselves is he a wise man, after all, for one of many, he is still pushing the idea of bio-renewable energy even though the scientific community has shown that it is as detrimental as fossil fuels to the environment (ie: he knows best). As a foreigner and anti war idealist, I think that after all John McCain has been through, and that he is 71 (if he had a really wicked side we would have heard by now), and that he has shown support for the surge when all the "politicains" (Hilliary and Obama) at first were against it and filp flopped, shows that he is not afraid and is brave and wise, after all it worked , shows ther is only one choice for President. What do you think

- As a foreigner! as i am why would you want to try and interfere with the outcome and try and tell people whats best for them.Thats what i think
- There are a LOT of questions in this. You should split it up! 1. No. Intelligence is NOT the same as wisdom. Look them up in a dictionary! 2. No, there is not necessarily good and bad in everyone. That said, there is good and bad in MOST people, but to what degree varies from person to person. Ultimately, if you are more bad than good, it doesn't matter that there is some good in you. 3. I think that both of your original questions are irrelevant to the political situation in America. What you say about McCain is a good example. Wicked or not, he has supported Bush throughout the war, and the war is ridiculous. McCain is not exactly pushing strongly for environmental improvement, either, something you seem to support. So I can't figure out why you'd want McCain in office. He's pretty much just a new version of the old problem in this country. How "wise" he is or isn't doesn't even matter.
- short answer is no. knowledge and fact is not the same as wisdom. wisdom is about how to live. much discussed for centuries and most "wisemen" who refer to the issue tend to agree on the practical interpretation. my favorite is "how to live."
- No, intelligence is not the same as wisdom. With that said, knowledge isn't even the same as intelligence. Intelligence is the ability to acquire knowledge. It can be measured by how quickly and/or how efficiently you can obtain knowledge. Knowledge is simply made of facts. To be knowledgeable is the accumulation of facts. To be wise is the simplification of facts. Being wise is knowing what to do with acquired knowledge. In my own personal belief, I believe that there is good and bad in everyone. I feel that George Bush may be a good father to his children and maybe even a good husband to his wife. However, I do feel that whatever it is that motivates him to make the decisions he's made concerning our country represents his bad side. Now, with that said, I think that Bill Clinton WAS a good President, but might not have been as good of a husband as he should have been. I don't exactly understand what John McCain, Hillary Clinton, and Barack Obama have to do with your questions. But I'll try to figure it out. I don't think John McCain is a bad person, but I don't agree with his political stances. I don't think Hillary and Barack are bad people either. Personally I think Barack has more good in him than Hillary has in her. Barack has never been for the war in Iraq. Neither has he supported the surge. He does however vote to financially support the troops because it would be reckless not to. I don't really see how you arrived at the conclusion that McCain is brave and wise. Having been a POW, I'll give McCain credit for being brave. Age, however, does not mean that one is wise.
