Barack Obama?
Would the American people really have the courage to vote Obama in as the new president of USA?
Public Comments
- If he were the nominee, yes. Hillary Clinton will win the nomination, but Obama will not be exiting the political landscape anytime soon. He's a relatively young guy with a great future. If he were to run in four years (if Hillary lost the general) or eight or sixteen or whatever, he would be an even stronger nominee, provided he keeps his hopeful message and the public still desires change as strongly as they do in the current age.
- if i was american. i would Clinton is an emotional woman [ not being sexist], and she cried at a speech thingo. can u imagine what will happen if america faces a problem? she would sit and cry! crying doesnt solve anything. not saying a woman should be presedent. look at maggie thatcher! she was a woman of steel. by fdar the best british PM. but clinton is very emotional and a bit ov a bull s h i t t e r Go Obama :) EDIT- Hilary bought in the element of race, not obama. remember the speech that bought in marting luther king as an example [ cant remmeber fully, but yeah] so i dont see how obama is racist. he hasnt separated black from white. they are equal :)
- I will vote for him
- No but it will look like it is going to happen for a while before someone destroys his credibility. I think he is qualified in every way but I'm also a realist, I think that some white people support him publicly but have no intention of actually voting for him, this is one of the reasons the polls were off and reflected Obama has the winner in IA.
- I should hope so, he's on top of my list.
- Courage is not needed in Obama's case. BRAINS are what the American people have that WILL NOT be voting this inexperienced, alien loving man into office.
- Depends on the region. In the North East and West Coast, they do; in the South, they don't. In the Mid-West it's hard to tell.
- I'LL NEVER VOTE FOR THAT RACIST HYPOCRIT EVEN IF MY LIFE DEPENDED ON IT!!!!!!!!! Besides he is inexperieces people. Why you white people don't see him as is racist beyond me. I mean come on, I am part black and hate him b/c he is racist. No offense to whites by anymeans b/c I am only PART BLACK as in mostly white myself.
- Its not a matter courage per se. Its a matter that America is not yet ready for a black President as there is still too much racial prejudice in the country. It is why, if he is nominated and even though he would make a good President, he will not be successful in his bid. A white, male republican will win for sure.
- I hope so. I would, if I could vote. Though I don't really see where the "courage" part comes in...
- The courage? I don't care that the man is black he would not be good as president. Plain and simple. I don't know why people like you have to pick apart race to make an issue. I can almost guarantee idiots like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson will bring forth some sort of race lawsuit like always and squeeze even more money out of people, because of "race". You people are sickening
- Doesn't take courage, it just takes common sense to VOTE ONE OBAMA!! Obama Has Been "Active – Even Hyperactive On Matters Of Energy And The Environment." "In his two and a half years in the U.S. Senate, Barack Obama has been active -- even hyperactive -- on matters of energy and the environment. The Democrat from Illinois has introduced or cosponsored nearly 100 eco-related bills on issues ranging from lead poisoning and mercury emissions to auto fuel economy and biofuels promotion. Along the way, he has racked up a notable 96 percent rating from the League of Conservation Voters." [Salon, 8/27/07] Obama Was Singled Out For His Work As A Negotiator On Ethanol Tax Breaks And Leadership On Ethanol. The Chicago Sun-Times reported, "Hastert, meeting with reporters on Friday, praised the "incredible teamwork" of the delegation, singling out freshman Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) for his work on the House-Senate committee, which cut the final deals on the transit bill and ethanol tax breaks. The AP reported, "Under the provision, gas stations would get a tax credit to install equipment accommodating E-85 - an ethanol-based fuel alternative that its promoters say is up to 50 cents cheaper per gallon than unleaded gasoline. The credit would cover 30 percent of the installation costs at a given station up to $30,000...Freshman Sen. Barack Obama introduced the tax-credit measure in the Senate in the spring, and it was co-sponsored by Illinois' other Democratic senator, Dick Durbin. Obama also worked for the credit's inclusion in the energy bill as one of the conferees preparing the Senate-House conference committee report." [AP, 7/27/05; Chicago Sun-Times, 7/30/05]
- They will, and look who else supports him. Sen Kent Conrad ( ND) Sen. Tim Johnsonn (SD) Sen. Claire McCaskill ( Missouri) Sen, Ben Nelson ( Neb) Former Sen. Gary Hart ( Col) Governors who support him.. Jim Doyle ( Wis) Tim Kaine ( Virginia) Janet Napolitano ( AR) Thumbs down all you want. I don't give a hoot. But the man has a fan base, like it or not.
- I don't think he is right for the job and the hype is already dying out, I see that MOST of AMERICA is seeing through his I have a plan to change rhetoric.....
- If he's the Democratic nominee I think he will win the Presidency.
