Is Mitt Romney Really attacking People?
I think Mitt Romney is just doing his job without trying to attack anyone personally. But does it seem like everyone else is attacking Mitt Romney mainly for personal reasons? Seems to me he is allwase on the defence when he attacks. But look at how they go behind his back and throw punches at his personal life. I will just have to vote for him now!

- He's just attacking Huckabee and McCain.....politics as usu-al.....
- No, just defending himself.
- Some of Ron Paul's people are violent and try to hurt people. Too much hatred in that campaign.
- Not attacking anyone??!! What about the negative adds against Huckabee and McCain??!! What's worse is that his claims in the adds are lies!! As an example, Mike didn't shorten the jail time for meth users - plus, the jail time in Arkansas was twice that of Massachusetts! Mitt is trash and should be tossed out like trash. Vote Huckabee! Reply to paper mage: Take a look at this unbiased source on Huckabee's record: http://ontheissues.org/Mike_Huckabee.htm Here are the ONLY things it lists about drugs: More drug courts & rehab, instead of incarceration. (Sep 2007) Drug education fails; drug punishment works. (Jun 2007) Supports drug courts for non-violent drug offendors. (Jan 2007) Stricter penalties for drug-related crimes. (Nov 2002) Treatment for drug use instead of incarceration. (Jan 2001) Curb supply by eradication; change attitudes to curb demand. (Nov 1992) More federal funding for all aspects of Drug War. (Aug 2000) That's it. Notice "Stricter penalties for drug-related crimes." He didn't shorten anything, although Romney claims he did. Also, I don't know what debates you saw, but none of the ones I saw had Mike attacking Mitt. That is completely false. Take a look at the facts.
- Politicians are noted for trying to destroy the character of their opponents. I feel it is wrong, however it is not illegal. Anyone that criticizes Mitt Romney is not doing it behind his back. It is on C-Span for all to see. I suggest that you think of a better reason to vote or not to vote for a specific candidate. There are many reasons out there. Politics can be a dirty game. That's why you need fire in your belly. That will help you to "fight back."
- If you call acknowledging an opponents positive attributes and then contrasting their record an attack, then yes. If not then no. But apparently Huckabee and McCain dont like people pointing out their record. So instead of trying to explain where Mitt got it wrong (Which they cant), they are attacking Mitt personally. Apparently, to Huckabee, criticizing his record makes Romney and evil man. but calling Romney a lie, attacking his religion, trying to scam the media into attacking Romney for him, makes Huckabee a good person. Very odd perception. For McCain, he seems to think that because he is a war hero, he should not be questioned. Romney has been pretty clear in his ads that he respects McCains war record. But simply being a war hero doesnt excuse you from stupid policy choices. McCain seems to think it should.
- Uh, Saberknight? The penalties for meth using and dealing actually were reduced under Mike Huckabee's governorship. That's a fact, like the other claims in the ads Mitt Romney's been airing. Just because they're lower than Massachusetts' means nothing. And while I'm at it, your candidate and John McCain have been "attacking" Romney for months now. I've watched almost every single debate in which the Republican's have participated. If there's two things Huckabee does at each, it's take potshots at Romney and highlight his own Christian record. If there's two things McCain does, it's take Direct shots at Romney and highlight his own war record. They're attacking him on two fronts, and all Romney is doing is fighting back. I say it's about bloody time.
- No. I do not see any sign of Mitt attacking people. His ads about huckabee and McCain have been factual about issues and records. I want to see and hear about the candidates and what stands they have taken on issues. Huck and McCain certainly aren't going to advertise their liberal records. The information will come out in the general election, so why not inform us about it before the primaries so we can make educated choices. To me attack ads or attacks in general have to do with a candidates personal life, problems of family members, religion, etc. Mitt hasn't done any of that negative campaigning like huckabee has. Huck has mastered the art of dirty politics. If Mitt had made an ad ripping into huckabee about his son torturing and killing a dog at scout camp, that would be wrong. Parents shouldn't be held responsible for bad things their teenagers do. But, the fact that huckabee pulled strings, because of his political position, to keep his son out of trouble for doing it could be used because it shows poor judgement and using his position for personal gain. The more I learn about Mitt and where he stands on the issues the more of a supporter I am. The more I learn about huckabee (and I already knew a lot because he was my governor) and McCain the less I like them. IN fact, if huck runs againt hillary or obama, I would be tempted to stay home or vote dem, or at least for a 3rd party. HUckabee has disgusted me THAT much.
