Can the national media like Fox, NBC and NY Times overcome the internet strength of Ron Paul for President?
On all internet polls or surveys I have seen, Ron Paul far out distances all the other Republican candidates. His obvious choice for VP will be Ann Coulter who will be drafted at the convention. Ron Paul or someone else for the GOP?

- I would love to see Ron Paul in the white house.
- If the internet poll was on prisonplanet.com, Ron Paul would slaughter the opposition. I wonder how crazy the 9/11 truthers would go if there was a terrorist attack while Ron Paul was president? That's one of those mental puzzles.
- Dude, this really makes me laugh. I'm not just trying to be some mean guy, but Ron Paul has no chance at even a nomination. I will be voting for a Republican so I certainly don't hate him, but he is too distant from the other candidates to get a nomination, plus, his polling may be good in certain areas but in the vast majority of polls he is WAY behind.
- Let us not forget Howard Dean. He was huge on the internet. And internet surveys are crud, the same person can vote numerous times in some cases. They're not something you should really pay attention to.
- That's because people have multiple ids and vote over and over..
- i love ron paul, but i just don't think anything about these elections are legit. i don't think the straw poll in iowa was legit. i just don't trust the diebold voting machines or any other voting machine that doesn't keep a paper trail. and the paper trail should be checked randomly for errors throughout the country. i just can't imagine them actually allowing ron paul to run the country the way he wants. i have given $100 twice but i just can't imagine them letting him win. but it won't stop me from spreading his message.
- Ron who? I'm so sick of everyone touting this guy like he is a legitimate candidate. Please, I hope you all understand that he is on the payroll for Clinton, Inc. You do understand this, right? He will be the third party spoiler to the Republicans once Hillary gets the nod. See Ross Perot in 92. It's straight out of their playbook.
- who?
- Ron Paul for president, you really do want open borders, mass hysteria, and the terrorists KICKING OUR A@@ Again like they did in the 90's, and the rest of the world pushing us around like were a bunch of JackA@@ instead of the world superpower
- sorry, an Internet phenomena does not a president make
- I love how all these people who clearly have no experience in politics shout "he clearly has no chance". It's laughable. They clearly have no idea how politics works. But the networks are worse. It's disturbing to be shut out by media. I don't think it's a matter of whether THEY can overcome his internet strength, its a matter of whether HE can overcome their bias. I think he just might. Not saying he has it locked up by any means, but I think his chance of getting the Republican nomination is probably about 15-20% likelihood. Remember, Bill Clinton only was polling at 2% at this time in the campaign. The idea that ANYONE has NO chance is just silly. Especially when there is no clear frontrunner and each of the leading candidates is so flawed. Ron Paul, or virtually anyone else, has a reasonable chance. And, with the large volunteer base, I think he has an opportunity to make this work. Now, where Ann Coulter comes into this...that's just bizarre. Not only are they quite different on many issues, but I doubt if they've even met. So how she becomes an "obvious choice" that's just funny. Rumors I've heard suggest that he might think about SC Gov. Mark Sanford for his VP selection. Certainly a more credible candidate than some talk-show icon, anyway. Ann Coulter? I mean, why?
- Would you like to put some money on that?
- The Internet strength of Ron Paul? You mean a pack of truthers and some dedicated staffers trolling the internet looking for polls they can fix? The Iowa straw poll showed us that the scientific polls are right - Paul is a nobody. Even without Rudy and John in Iowa, and with Fred not even in the race yet - the good Doctor came a miserable 5th.
- In 1996 Ron Paul was facing Greg Mclaughlin who was an incumbent since the late 80's in the Republican primaries for Congress. The State of Texas was redistricted and Mclaughlin was endorsed by GWB, Newt Gingrinch, and other Republican officials. Despite all these obstacles, Ron Paul still won the primary and election. The internet was not popular at this time. Even if he doesn't win(which I think he has a good shot at for the reasons I said), by putting libertarians views on the center stage he has already inspired a new generation of Ron Paul's to run for state, local, and federal office. Libertarians are already seeing how effective it is to run as members of the two parties instead of running as third party candidates. PS, the online polls were DEBATE polls, so anyone who watched the debates voted for Ron Paul. Calling it spamming is nothing more than being a sore loser.
- "Mitt Romney has made it clear that straw polls matter. After four state straw polls in Iowa, Illinois, Alabama, and New Hampshire - Ron Paul and Mitt Romney are tied with two wins, each. While this has gotten little media attention so far, if Paul continues to win additional states in these straw polls - the party and the media will need to recognize the the massive support for a traditional conservative. At this point, it is almost a necessity to elect Paul if Republicans want a chance to win this election at all."
