John McCain says to "call it a banana if you want to".   9. I think most of our politicians are bananas, if you want the truth. And they must think we are. How long do they think we'll continue swallowing this pap they're feeding us? I think this whole immigration business has been stirred up to distract us from all the other stuff going on. Iraq. Iran. High oil prices. Highest budget deficit ever. And on and on.
  10. I think the comment 'methinks thou dost protest too much' was apt. McCain wants to hide the future expansion of legal immigration of 1.7 plus million per year above the current rate, with a 20% accelerator each year in the legalization of current qualified illegals. Both elements are in 'the guest worker program'. Tying the two issues creates a fragile coalition for a proposition that otherwise would have little support. However, I don't know that the House will buy it.
