Did Mitt Romney REALLY say this?

BETTENDORF, Iowa (AP) -- Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney on Wednesday defended his five sons' decision not to enlist in the military, saying they're showing their support for the country by ''helping me get elected.''.

  1. and?
  2. Well, it's the AP, so I imagine he did.
  3. sounds reasonable to me. Hillary voted for the war and chelsea hasn't enlisted. Why?
  4. Yeah, apparently he said that today. I am a Republican, but does he really need all five sons to help him get elected? Heck, I think just having one or two sons in the military, serving our nation, would do a whole lot more to help him get elected.
  5. Sounds like Cheney, so probably so.
  6. What about it??? I've got a son that loves the military and vows that he's going to enlist when he's 18. I have another that doesn't like the thought of getting fired on, but wants to be a fireman. I'll support them both. One doesn't necessarily have to go to the military to serve ones country. Way to blow things way out of proportion though.
  7. he did??? wow/ kool!..did kerry's daughers serve?? did gore's son serve?? on and on...what folks forget is that it is an all volunteer service...klintoon ran away..oh wait...that's ok tho...he's a defeatocrat...my bad!
  8. typical CONS... cheerleaders not a players
  9. I was sent the interview in my e-mail this morning. I will wait until I have a chance to view it before I make any statements.
  10. And you have a problem with that? Does every young person need to join the military? Are they all old enough? Why do you support the war any way? Are your children enlisted?, if so thank you for your contribution. If not encourage it, if you support the war.
  11. Yes. Now why haven't you enlisted yet?
  12. yeah he said it. that's pretty much all he cares about I think.
