Well, I have to ask....does anyone really care that Mitt Romney is a Mormon...?

....I'm talking about how you view him as a candidate. As a voter do you really care if someone is "this religion" or "that religion"? Now, I'm not a Romney fan - I admit that I'm leaning to one of the Democratic candidates, but I was just cureous if anyone, while evaluating their choices, really judges Romney based on his religion - I just think his stances on the issues are more important. I'm curoeus what you think. Thanks.

  1. Romney's religion doesn't and shouldn't matter. This is America, after all. Shouldn't everyone get a fair chance, regardless of religous preference?
  2. At least he has the courage to stand up and declare that he believes in God. Mormons are Christians, too.
  3. yes~separation of church and state, why is it that the republicans always make religion a political point of view instead of discussing the issues that effect this country the most?
  4. Okay so I am a big book nerd and I have read up on Mormonism, first of all they believe the mark of Cain in Genesis is what makes people black and if you are good enough you will begin to turn white. That is just one of the strange things that to me couldn't make a good president.
  5. I'm a mormon myself, and everytime i watch a republican debate, i never think of him as a mormon. i think of him as a candidate. I agree with you 100%, people should focus on his stances and ideals. I'm not going to him my vote because he doesn't seem right to me as a candidate. unless his stances and ideals directly reflect on his religion (which they don't), he shouldn't be judged as a mormon, but as a republican candidate. of course many Americans have stated they won't vote for him because he is mormon. this is just unacceptable. what he preaches in his own home has nothing to do with his candidacy.
  6. it matters to me, i'd prefer a non mormon christian to get elected. i have my reasons.
  7. Long as he's not a MORON, like our current President
  8. I don't care about his religion, but what does disturb me is he's not a Democrat. How dare he compare himself to President Kennedy.
  9. Absolutely not I'm not a Mitt supporter but i look at the honesty and integrity of a person. Certainly a persons religion helps define their character and their values but to say a person has less integrity or lesser character based soley on their religion is narrow minded. It also has something to say about the character of the person passing such judgments!
