Mitt Romney ignored the tax question issue?
Of the 12,300 answers an overwhelming majority of individuals cried out for the fair tax act. What was selected as best answer - Make our taxes simple - It just goes to show H.R. 25 The Fair Tax Act will go on being ignored by politicians. Does anyone think politicians really want a simple tax report for middle and lower class America? Who cares where the the IRS employees would work. They have been instrumental in destroying many decent American lives/ Americans should read the actual bill before answering the question. In short every dollar you earn enters your pocket. The only time a tax is paid is if you buy something BRAND NEW. Any used item or property including a house bought or sold is NOT TAXED. ALL TAXES are eliminated. The bill also eliminates article 16 of the constitution. Gas tax gone, phone tax gone, property tax gone, energy tax gone. Read the bill

- Tax raising is a Democrats job! Yeah so how bout that film out on Michael Moore running from the camera when asked about his stock in Haliburton? Now thats a story Libs! Hide and hide and hide some more goons!
- We will never see a Fair Tax, or a flat tax for one simple reason....the IRS is the biggest employer in the government. Where would all the people work?
- Of course it will go on being ignored because it is neither fair nor practical. Despite the name the tax is extremely regressive. It wants to replace all income tax with a simple sales tax. The claim is this will eliminate the need for the IRS even though a similar tax in Australia was estimated to cost Australian business $A2.7bn in it's first year and $A1.9bn in subsequent years. Extrapolating this for the size of the US economy this would equate to business costs of $30bn initially and $23bn in subsequent years. Simply moving the job of the IRS to private business is not a good solution to our tax problems. Suggestions that it will be harder to evade than income tax are again laughable. Black markets exist for numerous products and we all know a plumber who will do our jobs "off the books". How can we possibly feel that when companies are responsible for collecting and reporting the tax on the products that they sell this will lead to less abuse? Whatsmore the rebate to the poverty level simply involves sending rebates with no proof of income or spending to every household in the US. Given how simple it is to enroll dead people to vote or get a credit card in the name of a family pet, how can proponents believe that this element of the plan will not be subject to massive fraud? Finally the far tax is regressive. With the allowance for poverty level spending it will be the lower middle classes who wind up shouldering a disproportionate amount of the burden. As our income rises so does our propensity to save. Poorer households spend all of thier income and all of it locally. Hence they will taxed on all of thier income above the poverty level. Higher income familes have a higher propensity to save and also to spend money overseas. Hence they are taxed on a smaller portion of thier income. Clearly trying to hide the unfairness of this is the basis for the name.
- its obvious that at least one of the answerers never read about the fair tax stuff... If he had, most of his comments would be 180 degrees different. THE FAIRTAX deal, taxes new product consumption...and since the rich are the biggest consumers,, they would in fact be paying even more than the 36% (TOP 1%) that they pay now... But fair tax also hits those who never pay taxes (illegals, criminals, etc)..
