Why do christians find Mitt Romney being a Mormon as a bad thing?

Its all over the news. He's a great candidate but, he's Mormon. If a Jewish person was running for office they wouldn't question it because it would be racist. They should just get off of his back about being a Mormon and look what he is as a person. He would make an excellent president. He is one of the few honest polititions. So whats the big deal about his religion? Mormonism is not a cult for the first thing. Being considered a cult is by size the Mormon religion is way over 10 million strong world wide. If that is a cult then I don't know what is. They are also Christian. If, you didn't know this then do your homework because they believe also in the Bible. Its just other christian religions put them down in many other ways. So who ever put that its a cult I will not give the best answer to.

1. could be the poly beliefs many have is similar to the muslim beliefs ?? wont matter,,,,,,,america is gonna get nuked...and bush and company will be the only people safe...but before the nuke happens, theres gonna be a white genocide being called on by all the illegals on youtube, etc...see mexican sites too, pay attention on the internet and you will find many calling for the death of white europeans,,,in america..... NOT white americans..
2. Awhile back many people asked a similar question about John F Kennedy and his being a Catholic. I thinks it's just another way of objecting to a person without telling you the REAL reason they object to them . . .
3. Don't kid yourself- there's no such thing as an honest politician. I don't know how big a deal the mormon thing is to me- I'm trying to keep an open mind, but all the mormons I've ever met really creep me out. I'm much more concerned with his ridiculous ideas of screwing with the tax code while we're so deep in Bush's defecit.

5. You capitalize Mormon but not christian. there is your answer! Religion and politics rarely mix. Personality is not morality. Most wars are waged in the name of religion, so politicians should keep their soul private during service. A candidate' s record should speak for itself. Has Romney favored big business? Has he managed the Olympics funds well?
6. Judaism is an ancient religion, with a rich and dramatic history. Mormonism is a cult, not at all Christian, with no physical or historical evidence ro prove overwise. If Mitt is an LDS member in good standing, then he MUST obey whatever his ancient 'profit' in Salt lake tells him to do. What if the prophet says "Brother Romney, you may push the button...

Christianity is based on the belief of Jesus Christ the son of God, the Mormon's religion is a cult, started by Joseph Smith on some writings that he found showed to three witnesses and then they became lost. I am a Christian but have friends that are Mormon and they seem to have pretty good family values and seem to be decent people.
