Do you think that Mitt Romney being Mormon will affect whether or not he becomes president?
How so? And why or why not

- bet he is the Anti Christ ok, sorry I should not have said that, but yes I bet it will affect it a lot. but then again, mormons seem to be taking over the world so he may win.
- I don't know. But he was a crap governor. He couldn't get re-elected in his own state and that's why he didn't run for a second term. There's no way he'd be a viable presidential candidate if he lost re-election as governor. I don't vote for people who are devout and use their religions to influence their governing decisions. I learned my lesson after Bush claimed God told him to invade Iraq: http://www.guardian.co.uk/usa/story/0,12271,1586978,00.html
- Yeah... Not a lot of people accept the LDS church, basically out of ignorance. They don't know what it's about, think they still practice polygamy, they think they're a cult, etc... I think if Mitt wants to be more accepted he should start telling the truth and informing the ignorant of the faith.... A lot of misconceptions out there will mess up his campaign... But I mean, having the highest percent of votes in Iowa, 25%, and the closest person be hind him being Guiliani with 13%....and Guiliani's daughter even being pro-Obama....I would say Mitt could have the republican ticket.... But can he beat the dems? He needs to start being like "I'm not like bush"
- YES, I BELIEVE IT WILL. HE WILL NOT GET THE CONSERVATIVES VOTE BECAUSE MORMONS BELIEVE JESUS AND SATAN ARE BROTHERS.. ALSO THEY USED TO LET BLACK FOLKS COME INTO THE FIRST SANCTUARY OF THE CHURCH BUT NOT ANY FURTHER.. UNLESS THEY HAVE CHANGED, WELL.......I DONT THINK THEY HE WILL GET THE VOTES HE NEEDS.
- He will not be elected President.
- Yes. Unfortunately, people are prejudiced and don't take the time to gain a true understanding of things before passing judgment on others. If people honestly knew what being Mormon was about, they would know that it could only make for an honest, compassionate, self-sacrificing, level-headed president. Unlike other religions, the Mormons have great tolerance for other faiths and beliefs. They also hold freedom as one of the highest ideals and priorities. So even if they do not believe in other religions or matters like homosexuality or abortion, they will fight for your right to choose for yourself. They would lay down their lives for you, regardless of your faith. They share what they have with the rest of the world. You could hate and persecute them and they would still love you--or try to--anyway. I am impressed by the Mormons. Not every individual Mormon is a good example, of course, but for the most part, they strive to be Christ like in the way they live. Too bad others don't see this truth, however. I can't understand why people don't examine Mitt Romney first as a man and as a politician instead of dismissing him solely because of his religion. Did the Kennedys get dismissed for being Catholic? May God guide the man--any man--who is elected to run this country.
- NO. They had a big issue about JFK being Catholic and though he would put his faith (and the Pope) before the USA. Now they are making the same kind of dumb comments about Mitt being Mormon. I think most people will look at what he has accomplished and will judge him on that.
- Yes completely. There are some big problems with him and all the republicans this election. He's doesn't stand out as being different at all from George Bush... which is good and bad. He's just conservative enough to let people vote for him over Gulianni, (who is a Christian's nightmare), but way too much like Bush for any independent or liberal to even consider him in a general election. -Plus, even if he wins the primary, many of the political-right Christians won't really care for him because he is morman, and will either not vote or take this time to vote for the Christian left (because I really think that many of these people don't understand the issues and vote on personal feelings more.) The funny twist is that those who would vote for Romney despite his religion, won't vote for him because of his political affiliations.
- No, I'm still voting for Ron Paul.
