Why did the most liberal state in the union elect Mitt Romney for governor?
He must not be that conservative to begin with.

- Ma. is not the most liberal state in the Union. That honor goes to Vt. They have a socialist as one of their US Senators.
- He's a two-faced flip-flopper. When he's governor of MA he's liberal, when he's running for president he's conservative.
- ES&S
- Because they saw that he knew what he was doing!
- No he is just great and they were able to stop worrying about conservative and liberal and actually listen to what he had to say. THey voted for him because of facts, rather then alot of you who just don't like the word CONSERVATIVE.
- He duped them.
- As a (hopefully) counter to our veerrry liberal state senate. He didn't really accomplish much against opposition like that, but a stalemate was better than what we have now. 100% libs in Boston. We have, in recent history, elected more Conservative governors than liberals. Now, we are going pay the price for letting a lib in. Fortunately, aside from a b.s. healthcare program that no one can figure out how to pay for, the new regime is more concerned w it's public image than doing any lasting damage. (So far, anyway.) BTW: Those weenies in Vermont are way more liberal than most of us here.
