Presidential candidate Mitt Romney has Yahoo! questions, does he have a chance?

Interesting to note that I've not heard of Mitt Romney before, yet he is a Republican presidential candidate. The media hypes up the Democratic candidates, but reading his bio on Wikipedia, I'd have to say he has a real chance as the next president. His Yahoo question on taxes has thousands of answers. Does he have a good chance to win? And why so little in the media about him?

  1. It will be very difficult. His name recognition is low & the super compressed primary schedule makes it hard to come from behind. Even if he wins Iowa & NH, he may not have enough time to convert that to momentum in all the 2/5 primary states.
  2. I hope so. I finally heard him on CSPAN today, and I liked what I heard.
  3. I've never heard of him either. But in order to get anything, he will have to get his name out there. It's a vicious cycle, he needs money to get his name out there, and he needs his name out there to get money. The reason the democrats are getting so much hype is because their two big candidates are different than normal presidential candidates (one's black, the other one is a woman) and they both have so much money raised towards their campaigns. So unless this Mitt Romney gets his name out there, he won't get very far.
  4. Probably not! Once most conservatives learn that he used an executive order to make gay marriage legal in Massachusetts after voters had rejected it, he will be tossed as a RINO. (Republican In Name Only) He's a Lib !!!
  5. No chance. But he is a hunter.
  6. I am a little leary of someone who was in government in MA. I hope another candidate appears - quick.
  7. YRU4IT, You are COMPLETELY WRONG. MITT ROMNEY NEVER used a Executive order to make Gay Marriage Legal. In fact Romney is completely against Gay marriage. Romney even had a rally at the statehouse demanding that the Ma Legislatures fulfill their duties and have an up or down vote on whether or not to let Gay marriage go on the ballot. He even asked the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court for legal advice as to what the Legislatures responsibility were. The SJC ruled that is was “Unconstitutional” not to vote on it but they could not legally do anything about it. Needless to say it scared the Ma Legislatures enough were an up or down vote was taken. Romney had played a big part in making that happen. Gay marriage was passed in Massachusetts by an activist court which only passed it by 1 vote to boot. A number of pro-family groups are fighting to get Gay Marriage on a referendum vote in 08. The Massachusetts Legislature still needs to vote one more time to get it on the ballot in 08. Details are: http://www.mipac.org/index.html Yes he definitely has a chance to become President although I will be voting for TOM TANCREDO. http://www.teamtancredo.org/ I live in Massachusetts, and have been following this issue.
  8. Yes. Winning requires first money, second good results in Iowa, NH and SC and then quality in the Candidate. Romney has all 3 ( he won the First Ballot raising the most money of all in Q1 and he is now tied for the lead in NH, doing well in Iowa and will win SC). He lacks name ID and that hurts him in national polls but once people meet him as in Iowa and NH they like him. In the end, he should get the Republican nomination.
