Is Mitt Romney a liar for saying he saw his father march with MLK Jr.?

The march organizer says MLK didn't march with G. Romney, and "Mitt Romney’s campaign spokesman Wednesday said the candidate was “speaking figuratively, not literally." http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071220/NEWS06/71220047 So can I say that I played guitar with the Rolling Stones on their 2007 tour, since I WAS playing guitar (in my living room) while they toured? Shouldn't a candidate cloaking himself in Christian values be less misleading when campaigning? If he explained his figurative language when he made the claim, nobody would accuse him of lying.

  1. I think most politicians are liars.
  2. I don't think Mitt ever thought about people looking into his claim. But you know they always have a fall back when they lie. I was speaking figuratively...lmao
  3. Since when are Christians "less misleading"?
  4. Ooh. That is indeed misleading. How hard would it have been to simply state "I marched with MLK Jr.,..... in spirit". Two words would have made it true. Two little words.
  5. his father stood for and beside MLK in all manners. i'm assuming you've never stood for anything in your life - politically, religiously, spiritually or other unless you were there literally beside him.them/it holding their hand. wow.... think about the various marches around the world.... how about the whole "we are the world". everyone might be standing in a different spot but they are standing togteher. he did see his father march with Dr King - that doesn't mean they were standing side by side. strength comes in numbers and all numbers are NOT side by side.
  6. Well you dont seem to understand what he wa saying. He saw his father "march" with him. Meaning his father believed in what MLK was saying and wanted what he wanted. If you were playing your guitar while watching a rolling stones concert that they were putting on a show about something you believed in, then yes you could say you were there with them/ You woud understand how it felt and what it meant.
  7. I read the article and it sounds like there are several different accounts and recollections, and there is no clear conclusion about whether or not MLK and G Romney marched together. Sounds like you have an axe to grind. Don't like Mormons?
  8. Romney will tell any lie that he thinks his audience wants to hear. Ask anyone who lives in Massachusetts.
  9. Yes - I thought you made Keith Richards look weak.
  10. Can someone say, I was fighting the nazis during WWII, even though they weren't in Europe? Yes. Just because they weren't physically there, doesn't mean they didn't march together.
  11. I think this guy is counting on the average low intelligence and inactive minds of Americans. I mean, here he is with an obvious appeal to the black voters where only a couple of generations ago, his religion was listed alongside the KKK as a racist organization.
  12. Hey, I played guiter for Jimi Hendrix, then I left to join Humble Pie.
  13. Imagine that, a Politician who is a Christian who is a Liar...ROFL I heard you play a pretty mean air-guitar though.
  14. A lie is a lie. Yes he lied. Why are these good Mormon people coming in here and twisting things around to make a lie seem like it isn't?
  15. "Shouldn't a candidate cloaking himself in Christian values be less misleading when campaigning?" Christian faith has always mislead people. Stupid Flanders!
