Mitt Romney Utters a Forbidden Word…?
In a new TV commercial, Mitt Romney utters one of television’s new forbidden words. “It’s this century’s nightmare: jihadism. Violent, radical Islamic fundamentalism,” he says. “Their goal is to unite the world under a single Jihadist caliphate. To do that, they must collapse freedom-loving nations like us.” The forbidden word? Jihadism. Romney says in the commercial that in response to this threat he’ll beef up America’s intelligence services, monitor Al-Qaeda’s calls into the U.S. (a clear reference to a controversial Patriot Act provision), strengthen the armed forces, and stop Iran’s quest for nuclear weapons. None of these recommendations, however, are likely to arouse as much controversy as his use of that word. http://www.jihadwatch.org/archives/018484.php Your thoughts?

- I'm sure the libs who defiled the Church in San Francisco will stage a violent protest.
- Jihadism is a word? I think Mitt romney is trying to cheat at scrabble.
- Jihad is term used for internal struggle. Has nothing to do with Radical Islam. Just proves the ignorance of Romney.
- Jihadism is not a Forbidden word I can tell you about the forbidden but it would drive you insane.
- We can thank Romney for using that word, as those who are offended by it will be exposed as idiots and traitors.
- I have not seen that commercial yet, but if he actually said something like that, even though it is true and factualy, most of the networks would not allow him to buy time on the airwaves. That is just about as bad as using the "N" word. How dare he use that word in a television commercial.
- Exactly....this country will not survive a liberal democrat Presidency.
- Just another terrorist.
- Mitt Romney is a flip-flopping, slick do-ed idiot who is playing on the fear that the right has kept going for almost 8 years now. You are being had, Republicans.
- That word is forbidden? By whom? Oh, the same people who are incensed by our national display of our flag and the singing of "God Bless America." Incensing those people is reason to live.
- Mitt Romney is a trained parrot. I believe even the most zombie-like citizens can detect his un-electability.
- He is right and shows he is going to take seriously the war on terror unlike the democrats. The terrorist started this war in the 70's, we just realized it on 9-11-2001. The radical side of Islam wants to take us back to an era of Muslim domination of the world and install a world-wide caliph.
- Forbidden? I don't think so... a quick search of Mr Bush shows... Search whitehouse.gov by keyword Results for: jihad 128 results found Much ado about nothing.
- It's sad. I am a liberal, but I think the typical "liberal" is wrong on this issue. Islam must be called out and things must be called by their names.
- Forbidden to whom exactly. To the sheep out there, the same ones that have been happy with the Rights bush has eroded, because of that word. It doesn't bother me. In fact it won't even work. Guiliani has the "I have no experience, but I was running around on 9/11 because I went against the opinions of experts and put my emergency office in the towers that had already been previously attacked", rap down as well as the "vote for democrats and you'll die" "9/11",,,,, "9/11",,, "9/11" He is trying to get elected, and right now if you spout toughness (fake toughness) then the sheep out there are likely to vote for you. I have no problem with what he wants to do. Bush has destroyed the military, left our ports and borders wide open, our intelligence does need to be beefed up and re vamped, because again under Bush, we are only looking at muslim terrorists and letting other countries by the use of espionage run away with our secrets. China, and Russia come to mind on that one. The one thing though which makes him a liar among the great liars. Is that he wants to do all of this while keeping the troops in Iraq and not raising taxes. It just can't be done. Unless that is we want to go into more debt by borrowing from China and Japan. It is hardly the word Jihadism that bothers me, it is these other things that unfortunately have to come along with this word. We have devolved as a nation from "We have nothing to fear, but fear itself" to "the terrorists are going to kill you unless you vote for me" it is sad really. We are supposed to be the strongest nation in the world. And half of us run around like wussies.
- While I congratulate Mr. Romney on his ability to stick to the Republican talking points, play on the same old fears, and say "freedom-loving" until he chokes, I'm much more interested in his views on the S-CHIP bill. His views this week, anyway. Mr. Romney doesn't have an original thought in his head, and he even edges out Senator Clinton for the honor of "Most Blatantly Disingenuous Candidate." The man is a reptile, and hopefully he's going down real soon. As for his opinions on Jihadism, or radical fundamentalism, or whatever you want to call it (I DO NOT care), I refuse to listen to anyone on this subject who poses with "Barrack OSAMA" campaign signs.
- Not forbidden word. That word that needs to be said because denail of that word will only get us killed. Liberals want to deny it because than they would have to face the evil of Muslim terrorists and not on Bush bashing.
- The First Amendment says there are no "forbidden words" here in the USA. How did you get so misinformed?
- William Clinton used the word Jihad. His administration was constantly vigilant in preventing terrorist attacks in the US.
- chickenhawk again shows how little he knows, you can't use words of hate, treason, or slander so technically there are forbidden words. I thought you said you were in the miliatary.
- Good for you Mitt for telling it like it is!!!
