Mitt Romney should be the next President of the United States of Americ because...?

I am looking for legitimate reason why Mitt Romney is more qualified to be President than any other candidate. Please do not bash Mitt Romney or promote another candidate on this thread as I will be asking about some other candidates as well. Also, please note that there is only one Hillary Clinton and half of Americans are Republicans. Therefore, the arguments that a) "At least he's not Clinton." and b) at least he's not a Democrat." are not valid qualifications as those qualities are shared by my aunt, and I wouldn't trust her to run a lemonade stand. Specifically, I am looking for 1) a voting record that shows consistency in what he supports. 2) evedence of good moral character 3) historical evidence that his ideas are good for the economy (ie. when Xyz lowered taxes, unemployment dropped by X%) 4) Evidence that he will stand by his convictions even if they are unpopular 5) In what way is he superior to the other candidates of his party? Please think of this kind of as finishing the sentence, "I will be voting for Romney because..." Some of you may like to imagine this as a creative writing assignment.

  1. Because he has nice hair.
  2. He is way too conservative and out of step with most Americans. he should NOT be allowed to be president
  3. Mitt Romney should be president because then everyone could marry multiple wives like his religion endorses.
  4. In the primary I will vote for Rudy, but if Mitt is the "R" candidate I will comfortably vote for him He is a strong Capitalist. He has fixed business and became known for fixing business -- so much so that when the 2002 winter Olympics was in trouble Mitt came in and made it a fabulous event. He has executive experience -- Gov. of Liberal Mass. Did an OK job -- but made compromises I would not want. However -- he did not compromise on his morals when handed a bill authorizing money for fetal research and he had to veto this even though his earlier position was to not oppose any abortion legislation (which is OK with the LDS religion-- one is not to encourage abortions, but that does not mean we cannot vote for choice in this manner). So I am OK with Mitt D
  5. 5) Romney, Thompson, or Huckabee should be President because they're the only candidates in the race who are conservative on all the issues and who have a chance of winning. I'm not sure what good points Romney has that Thompson and Huckabee don't. 2) His moral character is good. 1 and 4) His record is not consistent. For example, in the past he was pro-choice, and now he claims to be pro-life. So that's a point against him. It's unclear whether or not he's always stood by his convictions, because it's unclear what his convictions are, because his record is not consistent. 3) He supports low taxes rates, which have historically resulted in low unemployment and increased tax revenue. Kennedy, Reagan, and George W. Bush are examples. FDR (pre WW2) and Carter are examples of liberal fiscal policy having bad consequences. I don't think the liberals actually dispute that lowering tax rates lowers unemployment. They just contend (incorrectly) that it lowers tax revenue and increases the deficit. The deficit does sometimes increase after tax cuts, but that's only because spending increases. If tax revenue increases, then the deficit increase isn't a result of a tax rate cut.
  6. i don't think he should , it would just be 4 more years of the same might as well vote in hillary for all the good it would do
