Why is Ron Paul raising more money then all of the other GOP candidates if their base hates him?

He’s on track to vault over his $12 million goal, and that could seriously outpace all of his GOP rivals, including the deep-pocketed Romney. Add to this the fact that the Ron Paul Blimp idea apparently reached its $350K goal and the craft is set to launch on Dec. 10th for a month long tour of the nation. That website is now even raising money for advertising time on the blimp. http://donklephant.com/2007/12/01/will-ron-paul-raise-most-money-in-q4/ Latest Poll Numbers from pollingreport.com: 11/30 - 12/2/07 Rudy Giuliani 25 Mike Huckabee 16 John McCain 15 Fred Thompson 15 Mitt Romney 12 Ron Paul 5 If they won't support him, why is he getting so much cash thrown at him?

  1. I'm actually more curious as in what the hell he is doing with that money. Unfortunately money doesn't buy you the nomination, well, at least not that 'little'.
  2. watch now all the paid for opinions will chime in at once and tell you that it is kids on the internet, amazing how spin just spins...
  3. Because people are feeling the pitty
  4. I have felt for a while Ron Paul is being squelched out by big money and power. And those polls, who pays for those polls? Who gives the parameters for conducting those polls? Yes the people with the money to pay for them. Ron Paul is outside the pre determined box.
  5. Ron Paul does not exist and all of this alleged talk of liberty and freedom will come back down to earth after the diebold machines pick our next president.
  6. The reports have been translated for us by the corporate-controlled media using NewSpeak.
  7. How much did the others earn over their entire campaign? Just because someone raises money doen't make them the shoo in for the job. Since he is still dragging the bottom it obviously hasn't helped him very much.
  8. it's weird how these things work isn't it? but Guliani is losing ground with the bible belt. huckabee can surpass him and Ron can easily out climb thompson and romney.
  9. What's the logic of this question? They loved Hitler, too, and OJ Simpson. Popularity could be just as much a sign of gullibility as "voter wisdom" and in Ron Paul's case I couldn't think of a worse candidate. His ideas are unworkable, even stupid. He's nothing more than a vapid populist preying on desperate people. Leave the UN? Leave NATO? Disband the IRS? Go back to the Gold Standard? Congress would laugh at this man if he were President. He'd spend 4 years twindling his thumbs while the country goes adrift
  10. Idolatry is an odd emotion, but it must be one that this guy's supporters feel for them to work so hard to fill his coffers. It reminds me of the Evangelical Preachers on TV who plead their case for donations and then are exposed for living mighty LARGE! I know what he stands for...some really "out there" stuff, like legalizing marijuana...and that could be one of the big draws for him.

  12. Well an estimated 1/3 of the republican base is against the war in Iraq and so is anyone else in this country with the least bit of sanity.. He's been receiving contributions from both conservatives and liberals. EDIT: Joe T, if your going to criticize a candidate for his/her positions, make sure you know what they actually are The phasing out of the IRS would not eliminate said taxes only the income tax which is used to pay interest back to the FED for printing their worthless money As for his monetary policy, we cannot continue to print money out of "thin air" Paul is for creating a competing currency backed by gold. "He opposes dependency on paper fiat money, but also says that there "were some shortcomings of the gold standard of the 19th century ... because it was a fixed price and caused confusion." He argues that hard money, such as backed by gold or silver, would prevent inflation, but adds, "I wouldn't exactly go back on the gold standard but I would legalize the constitution where gold and silver should and could be legal tender, which would restrain the Federal Government from spending and then turning that over to the Federal Reserve and letting the Federal Reserve print the money. "He supports parallel currencies, such as gold-backed notes issued from private markets, competing on a level playing field with the Federal Reserve fiat dollar." –wiki ***He is NOT for returning to the gold standard, he is for creating a competing currency backed by gold.. wouldn't you rather have currency backed with the rising value of gold, instead of currency backed by the depreciating negative value of debt? The UN and NATO are organizations that have only perpuated our problems in the past. These organizations pose threats to our national sovereignty and commit American military forces to situations that don’t serve in our national interest. Besides we don't need these organizations to network and communicate in this day and age.
