Do you think the Ron Paul blimp will raise awareness?
The Ron Paul blimp will take off tomorrow, Dec. 12, from Elizabeth, NC. CNN news clip on the Ron Paul Blimp: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jw2nmbcnFmY&NR=1 http://www.ronpaulblimp.com The blimp will be hugging the east coast while it files to Boston, MA. 'full of hot air'?... maybe the 'hot air' is the anger against the government that is mismanaging the country.. And this 'hot air', if used properly, can raise this country to new heights of inspiration and take it to it's former glory. This 'hot air' is what makes the magnificent bald eagles soar.

- Not unless it flies in more states than just North Carolina. . . and most will probably not see it anyway. I think we all know who Ron Paul is by now and do not need a blimp in the sky to tell us.
- No, it will just remind everybody that Ron Paul has no chance. Lots of thumbs down, please. My record is still 19. Vote for Rudy!
- Raise awareness of what? Ron Paul? No. I suppose it might get some response for their fundraiser, but there's still no way he's going to win. His stance against the war won't allow him the Rep. nomination, and then no Dem would vote for him because of his social policies.
- I'm certain the Ron Paul campaign has plenty of hot air already. Oh, the Hindenburg references are just too much to bear. A hugely expensive movement (12M or so right?) sailing off with high expectations....only to explode because it build out of unstable materials. :) Enjoy.
- Hey Ricks counting his thumbs downs now, hahahahahahaha.
- full of hot air....hmmm ironic isn't it.
- It just goes to show that Ron Paul is just like a blimp. Full of hot air.
- maybe it'll act to show how much money he's raised, but I can't picture someone voting based on a blimp. That being said I hear Chuck Norris is backing Mike Huckabee, so I guess you take what you can get.
- I think any extra Ron Paul name exposure is a good thing. :]
- I think radio and T.V. ads would be a better way to spend money, but I guess it can't hurt. RONPAUL2008
- The reason this blimp exists is that people who had already maxed out their legally allowed donations to the Ron Paul campaign still wanted to give. They couldn't give Ron Paul any more money, and they couldn't directly buy him any radio or TV advertising, but technically if they flew his name across the country, that would be allowed. The Ron Paul campaign isn't spending their money on this and isn't involved in it in any way. Again: Everyday average working people in the cynical, jaded year 2007 supported a presidential candidate so much they gave him as much money as they could. And THEN--after they'd given him their hard-earned money--they flew a blimp with his name on it across the country. Who's full of hot air? Not Ron Paul, not his supporters. This is how presidential candidates are supposed to be--idealistic and inspiring. This is how their campaigns are supposed to work--grassroots and driven by real people who care. We've forgotten that, because our political system hasn't worked the way it should work in a long, long time. Mainstream candidates like Giuliani, like Hillary Clinton and Mitt Romney, are not by and large supported by real people who feel that these candidates speak for them and address issues that they care about. These candidates are fueled by corporate money and the interests of rich and powerful people who don't care about the interests of regular people. The wealthy and the corporations throw some money at their pet politicians to keep their money coming in smoothly. Because these people are so powerful, because they're so good at caring for their money, of course they'll crush Ron Paul, and of course Ron Paul's balloon will get popped in the primaries. The machines to crush people like Ron Paul have been running for years now, and it's going to take more than a blimp to stop them. But we ought to be ashamed that it works this way.
