Ron Paul consistantly gets around 2% in the polls, yet I see many supporters on here,?

are they using forums such as this as a campaign tool, or are all of his supporters just computer junkies?

  2. There have been several explanations for this. The first is that the polls you refer to are generally done over phone lines to members of the two largest parties who are very likely not to vote for an upstart or anybody whom they may see as rocking the boat. The majority of Ron Paul support is from the tech-savvy youth, many of whom don't have a landline, and who haven't voted before (such as myself). The second is that the numbers are simply manipulated to show a desired outcome.
  3. They are using forums like this as a tool. Ron Paul doesn't have enough support to give him the cash he needs to wage a campaign with the big boys (and girl) so he has his groupies flood the blogs and forums with annoying posts hoping to get him some attention. Unfortunately they don't realize that most such blogs, boards, etc are used by people not old enough to vote. Those who are old enough usually see what he is all about and pounce on the Paul followers with little mercey. Rightfully so. They are annoying little pests.
  4. Name recognition. I hadn't heard of Rue Paul before this forum.
  5. His supporters are very committed. They are campaigning every moment of the day. There is no one else running that has his uniquely old right philosophy. I support Mitt Romney; but Rudy Giuliani would be great too.
  6. He has little money to finance his campaign. Most of his supporters are volunteers and many campaign for him on line.
  7. With such a tiny percentage, why to people here on Yahoo keep screaming about how he's not asked a question on Yahoo and that he will become president. One person even said he's got 50% of the vote and they couldn't understand how Romney was ahead. Well, he never had 50% of the vote. (Several polls put him at less than 1%.) Get really, he won't make it past a couple of primaries. She not going to win! He's one of the lowest tier candidates, not a top tier.
  8. Almost invariably, support and popularity translates to money. Ron Paul has none. Besides, I don't think the country is ready for another Texan.
  9. People like to back who they believe in. I think McCain is the best for the position and he is lagging in the polls as well, but I take every opportunity to talk him up when the situation permits. I have had some people send me e-mails praising Ron Paul and from what I read of them I don't really care for the guy. There is no doubt they are using this site as a tool as well as others to promote him and honestly that is their right. It does seem the younger crowd likes him the most and there is a lot of young posters here, that might be another explanation why so much support for him here.
  10. He wins every debate poll or straw poll - it has been shown And it also has been shown how these networks change the final result numbers for vote ins! Just because they don't show it - doesn't mean he isn't winning and when 2008 comes around - trust me many more will know his name! Dr. No - Ron Paul Voted against the Iraq war from the beginning Voted against the Patriot Act - unconstitutional to the American people He is the man they all fear (Globalists) During the debates - why didn't they ask Health care questions to the only licensed medical doctor out of all the candidates? Yes - why - that is the question! Because he has real answers - honest and Nation fixing answers! The whole picture will let you see a real American working for us - the American people!
  11. Those polls are limited to people who will be voting in the Republican primaries. Ron Paul is not considered by most Republicans as a Republican. He is after all a member of the Libertarian party as well. The odd thing about Ron Paul is that he gets more support from Democratic voters than Republican voters. Democratic voters won't win him the Republican nomination. It's more likely to see Ron Paul on the 2008 ticket as an independent. It's a good strategy for him to run in the Republican primaries even tho he will run as an independent. He is benefitting from much more exposure this way.
  12. Is he really getting just 2% in the polls? We only know what the media wants us to know. Polls mean nothing and we all know it.
  13. A lot of people are getting turned off by all the morons Spamming Ron Paul's name and URL all over the place. You THINK you're "Getting the word out" but all you're really doing is making Ron Paul look like a moron who needs brain dead Spammers to prop up his popularity. The endless Ron Paul Spam means the masses will take him LESS seriously, as subconsciously people are categorizing him along with Viagra ads and Nigerians who need to move $5 Million to the US. I personally think he's the best candidate the Republicans have offered, but despite this, I've come to cringe every time I see his name online. It's the same reason I can never take any Hoodia product seriously, I've seen far too much Spam about it to think of it as more than a joke.
  14. Distorted Vision why are you Spamming the same answer for multiple questions? You are not a true Ron Paul Supporter. Ron Paul continues to win all online polls and it will transcend to the real vote when it gets here.
