Why is Fox News leaving Ron Paul out?

ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA – According to the New Hampshire State Republican Party and an Associated Press report, Republican presidential candidate and Texas Congressman Ron Paul will be excluded from an upcoming forum of Republican candidates to be broadcast by Fox News on January 6, 2008. http://www.ronpaul2008.com/press-releases/94/has-fox-news-excluded-ron-paul/ Despite the obvious lack of coverage by the media, here are the New Hampshire straw poll results in the past for Ron Paul: Strafford County, NH on 8/18/2007 #1, 72.2% of votes. Manchester, NH Straw Poll on 9/16/2007 #1, 65.0% of votes. So why is Fox News leaving Ron Paul out? Straw Poll results after the debates. http://www.ronpaul2008.com/straw-poll-results You will not see these results shown on other candidates' websites because they are not winning. In this currently active poll from December 21 to Jan 4, approx. 179,000 people have voted Democrat and approx. 197,000 people have voted Republican. Of these votes that include all of the candidates, Hillary Clinton is in the lead for the Dems and Ron Paul is in the lead for the Reps. Ron Paul has almost twice as many votes as the other Reps - there are 4 others with a decent number of votes. For the Dems, there are only 2 others with a decent number of votes. http://news.aol.com/political-machine/2007/12/21/straw-poll-dec-21-jan-4/ So if Ron Paul wins the Rep. nomination and the other Reps support him, according to the number of people voting for the Dems and Reps, it appears Ron Paul will be our next President. :) Ron Paul's response to Fox: http://www.boston.com/news/local/politics/primarysource/2007/12/paul_fox_news_i.html By James Pindell December 29, 2007 01:40 PM PLAISTOW, N.H. -- Ron Paul said the decision to exclude him from a debate on Fox News Sunday the weekend before the New Hampshire Primary is proof that the network "is scared" of him. "They are scared of me and don't want my message to get out, but it will," Paul said in an interview at a diner here. "They are propagandists for this war and I challenge them on the notion that they are conservative." Paul's staff said they are beginning to plan a rally that will take place at the same time the 90-minute debate will air on television. It will be taped at Saint Anselm College in Goffstown. "They will not win this skirmish," he promised. The Fox debate occurs less than 24 hours after two back to back Republican and Democratic debates on the same campus sponsored by other news stations.

  1. He is too conservative for our Bush neoconservative party. You Ron Paul people can take your money and run, we do not want you in our GOP. GO AWAY. Traitors to Bush! If Paul is on the ticket I will STAY HOME and support a Bush insurgency.
  2. Not sure. But I have a pretty good idea that there is more going on then was communicated in that press release.
  3. Because they don't want the People to wake up and realize that there is hope for America. They want us to be stuck in the battle for the "lesser of 2 evils" again. I'm pulling for the good Dr. and I hope and pray that he makes it to the White House.
  4. Because he's a non-factor.
  5. There you go Neocons...Fair and Balanced reporting! Sure. Your very own network is deciding FOR you who to listen to, and who to ignore, based on decisions from YOUR government Leaders. You don't think so? Then EXPLAIN THIS!!!
  6. Fear. Why else would they try to hide a candidate they don't like and that "can't win"?
  7. He will be included. The process is not finished yet. Don't panic/celebrate yet.
  8. I don't have a clue but I am almost certain I am voting for Ron Paul ;)
  9. Actually I think Fox News has covered Ron Paul a bit better than other mainstream media channels. I'm no Fox News watcher and I am a Conservative supporting Ron Paul, but his coverage has been better on Fox than CNN or MSNBC. However, they do try to make him out like he's stupid with their questions but he always shuts them down. I remember one guy was bantering about holiday campaign ads and he asked Ron Paul a loaded question, he replies, "What's your question? It doesn't really matter to me, I'd rather talk about monetary policy!" Booyah!
  10. he does seem to be a nice enough guy. just not very presidential and he doesn't have a large enough % to qualify. we have had way to many in the debates. it has to be cut down so that we can hear from the people that truly stand a chance.
  11. sounds like the 'straw poll' results are for those internet-only 'vote as often as you want' polls the 'ronpaulites' are so fond of...i'm guessing that someone at faux saw your boy make an absolute babbling fool of himself on 'meet the press' and wanted to save him from embarrassing himself again...
  12. Probably because he is against the war on which the military-industrial complex makes big bucks.
  13. Because he is nuts, besides that I seen him on Hannity & Combs and no one could get a straight answer out of him. He's about 300 years out of wac. His Ideals would have been concidered 1776 Or with the Liberal party. but at this time he a country killer. this contry. ( Iput in earmarks but i never voted for them. what does that mean, weather he calls it taxes or fees its the same thing, And once again he is not what he seems.
  14. No matter who the candidate is, I don't support excluding them from any debate. Whether it's Nader, Perot, Paul, or whoever. When they are excluded, the issues they would raise are excluded. Whether you agree with their views or not, they should have the right to be heard and evaluated, just as the other candidates are heard.
  15. Because the Neo-Cons are SCARED. Let them talk about him not being a "major" candidate all they want, everyone knows the real reason.
  16. Because Fox News tends to like very specific kinds of rhetoric from candidates it includes in its coverage. Even if they're normally supportive of Republicans, Ron Paul is different.
  17. Who knows. But before you jump to conclusions let them figure out why he was not included.
  18. Because they know he can win and they don't want an end to the war. War is very profitable
  19. Cause he's not serious. I saw him on Meet the Press and Tim Russert asked him simple questions and he was stuttering, hesitant, or saying "come on". What's that? even a high school teen could do better
  20. I did see him on Nicholodeon.
  21. I've heard mixed reports - some claim he wasn't invited, others say that he was. I can think of a couple big reasons why he wouldn't be. 1. His standing on medical marijuana - something the majority of Americans wouldn't mind seeing legalized but those who make money from the pharmaceutical companies would rather keep criminal. (How many ads for different drugs do we see advertised on television?) 2. His standing on the war in Iraq and any meddling in another country's business. With the chaos in Pakistan right now and the war-mongers uttering the word "terrorist" every two minutes trying desperately to scare the daylights out of everyone in the USA and rally support for even more war, the last thing they want is a presidential candidate getting up and saying that the USA should stay out of it. Considering how the other GOP candidates stand on those two issues, can't you just imagine how the viewing audience's heads would spin if they learned there was actually a choice on those issues? Of course, I'm just speculating here.
  22. He's the only Republican against the Iraq War and Fox news does not work for anyone, who disagree with George Bush even over one issue.
