Ron Paul introduced a Declaration of War (2002?) to Congress. Why did Congress turn their heads?

Not sure why some on this forum believe Ron Paul is weak on 'war' / 'terrorisim' . To my knowledge he wanted to put Congress to a vote and vote for a Declaration of War to go into Iraq. Ron Paul wants to trade w/ other countries - not be the world police. Think that was the same thoughts as Washington, Franklin, Jefferson, etc., etc.

1. It was a different world in Washington's day. He is living in the past.
2. Because if we declare war we have to have some clarity about what we're doing, why we're going, etc. We never did that. The little clarity we had has been lost, and we let Osama retreat into Waziristan. Of course he was never connected to Iraq. Does anyone remember why we went to Iraq? I mean, not the excuses about WMD, but wasn't there something in the background...we thought he was somehow connected to al-Queda, but that wasn't true either. Anyway, no, Ron Paul is not soft, and I think he would have followed up on Osama into Waziristan if necessary. Unlike our last few candidates, Dr. Paul served in the military, and he understands what war means.
3. Great question. Congress did not want to be responsible, my guess is because they knew that Bush had plans to pre-emptive war attacks before 911 even happened. Well I can never ever vote for the following: Hillary Clinton John Edwards Mitt Romney Rudy Giuliani Fred Thompson John McCain Bill Richardson Newt Gingrich Barack Obama Chris Dodd Despite what they say about all the good things they would do because they are members of the CFR. and want to obliterate the borders and our national sovereignty. Not a myth, not a theory ....A FACT. Research the paper entitled Building a North American Community of the CFR website. 4. Congress turned their heads because there are quite a few in there who are corrupt. Ron Paul rocks! I was informed by the unofficial Ron Paul website, that supporters were saying, "We will crawl on our hands and knees through minefields to vote for Ron Paul!". I must admit, that I'm feeling it too! P.S. Bravozulu, our forefather's vision for us has never died! That was the beauty of it all. Freedom lives!
