- I agree, he is a complete nut job. He is the republican version of Dennis Kucinich. I wonder how much all these people on here must be getting paid by his campaign to spam sites with mis-information about poll results and support.
- He's the most suitable, though not perfect. The other ones are controlled puppets.
- Ron Paul is convincing, but me only being 17 years old, im not completely aware of govt needs. I like his proposals, most of them, but like any other president..he wont go though with them.
- Agreed. Unfortunately it's nearly impossible for any candidate to win when they are shamelessly ignored by the media. He has a nice online following, but unfortunately majority of voters aren't exactly internet savvy. The media picks our president. The people cast the actual votes, but it's not the candidates that raise their own support (at least not in the masses), it's the media. But I think that he will do as well as anyone could hope for about a candidate who has 0% media attention. Now, if the media decides to wake up and not just report the candidates who benefit them, but who actually benefit the people like then we may have ourselves a primary.
- no one knows who he is? Ron Paul has raised more money this quarter then any other GOP candidate (so far), he has won more straw polls, he has won every post debate poll, and he is currently winning the spam proof AOL poll by a landslide, his book out sold all other GOP candidates this holiday season, and i see his name in more questions in the election section of yahoo answers then anyone else. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l5ZXM3h4jig No one has ever heard of him? Think again!
- I liked the guy, but doing my research, he seems insane. And his supporters just make me turn the other way whenever anything good comes from him. His supporters are mainly students, and teens who can't vote and know jack. What working person has so much time to post comments and fight on Youtube?
- «:::R:::» «:::O:::» «:::N:::» '08 «:::P:::» «:::A:::» «:::U:::» «:::L:::»Freedom and democracy are but dreams the past. While rights and liberties are being sacrificed for the illusory war on terror, America is drifting down the unholy road of tyranny, a tyranny of both an unlimited government and the tyranny of the masses of disenfranchised US citizens (i.e., economic slaves). We the people talk about being a free country under rule of law, but we are free no more. America is a country run by the rule of men and women without regard for the state or federal constitutions intended to limit, not expand, their power. Our leaders, all but a few, are corrupted by power. And worse is that we the people tolerate it on a daily basis and let the mainstream media manipulate our minds, feed us lies, disinformation and propaganda, and make decisions for us. Our choices for leaders are all from the same school with similar agendas. We the people talk about democracy, but are run more like a totalitarian dictatorship with absolute disregard for the rights and property of the people of this country and the people of other countries around the world. Yet we stand by, do little or nothing and tolerate this abuse instead of accepting responsibility for our present condition. The American military fights wars of intervention to bolster our weak economy and dependency on oil, and has done so for fifty or more years. The American military is being used by the global elite to implement a new world order agenda of one world government, one world bank, one world money system, one world military under the absolute control of a plutocracy, and has done so for decades. This is not America, not the America I love and celebrate this July 4th. Wake up America The American people have fallen asleep at the wheel of the worlds only superpower. Its time to wake-up, stand up and be counted. With over 2.1 million people behind bars, mostly for nonviolent, political crimes against the State, America has the distinction of being the prison capital of the world. While our children and their education has been all but abandoned by schools and parents alike; while the core family unit is broken; while the sick and diseased are left without health care and sold expensive drugs instead; while the environment is destroyed by over consumption and excess and while our moral condition is undermined by mass media, we the people have been asleep for decades. Isnt it time to wake-up America? The tyranny of England in the 1700s has been replaced with the tyranny of an ever-increasing government presence and control over every aspect of our lives. Freedom and democracy are but dreams the past. While rights and liberties are being sacrificed for the illusory war on terror, America is drifting down the unholy road of tyranny, a tyranny of both an unlimited government and the tyranny of the masses of disenfranchised US citizens (i.e., economic slaves). The emerging tyranny of the federal United States government is beyond compare and has been usurped by the global elite (e.g., 9/11) for the explicit purpose of creating a world government system under their absolute control (e.g., NAFTA, GATT, WTO, IMF). The American military is the new world army, invading any country (starting with the poorer ones like Afghanistan and Iraq who cannot defend themselves) daring to challenge a world authority by asserting national sovereignty. Over six-hundred types of taxes, inflation and devaluation of the US Dollar burden the poor even more than the rich in America, as the power structure has found effective ways to structure assets and diversify to minimize liabilities. Taxes consume up to 60% of the annual incomes of most Americans. Abolishing the personal and corporate income tax would not only provide an annual raise of household income, provide an incentive to empower the producers, but stop much of the corruption, theft of the public trust and wasteful pork in Washington DC it will take more than fireworks, flag waving and hot dogs to restore independence in these united states of America. America of the past is gone. America before 9/11 is gone forever. The America of the future will become a totalitarian, police state under the thumb of Orwells greatest nightmare. Worse is the majority of the American people dont care, stand by and do nothing except turn the channel. We the people are entertaining ourselves to death under the gray sky. Love for country and a moral conscience, besides hollow patriotism and blind obedience, have all but vanished from the political landscape of scarcity-based thinking, corruption, greed, violence, moral degradation, usury and exploitation. Well, my American friends there are solutions for those with the ears to hear, if we the people bring them forth and dare to take action before its too late. The hour is passing and quickly Americans will be on the road of no return and extinction. As Thomas Jefferson once predicted, Americans will one day wake up homeless in the land of their forefathers And so it is happening. "I believe there are more instances of the abridgement of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power, than by violent and sudden usurpations." -James Madison
- I disagree. He can become president. How? Close to 100% of his supporters will vote in primaries compared to about 10% of "likely Republican primary voters" supporting other candidates. He will easily beat any Democratic candidate in the general elections as they wont have the opposition-to-the-unpopular-war advantage. And he makes much more sense on all the other issues compared with the Democratic front-runners.
- From the inside, i can tell you that the Ron Paul movement is the most genuine political movement since the revolutionary war. How can you attack RP when he's had a nearly spotless record in congress. The people you see standing outside in the freezing cold for hours holding up his signs, want truth...... Not some likeable character that all the other candidates paint themselves as..... and change thier view on the issues everytime they campaign in a different state.... It's called integrity! and to answer your question..... He has the most rapid growth than any other candidate in the poles at a point this early in the race? nothing is impossible, if his message gets out...... There is no left or right for me, only bloated goverment and true democracy
- Yup, he really does sound like a nut job, doesn't he? # He has never voted to raise taxes. # He has never voted for an unbalanced budget. # He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership. # He has never voted to raise congressional pay. # He has never taken a government-paid junket. # He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch. # He voted against the Patriot Act. # He voted against regulating the Internet. # He voted against the Iraq war. # He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program. # He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year. # He introduces numerous pieces of substantive legislation each year, probably more than any other single member of Congress
- I agree.
- Why can't Ron Paul be President? Is it because he doesn't get anywhere NEAR the amount of gloating coverage that the "mainstream" candidates get? If you cast your vote based upon joining the team that you think is most likely to win, then you completely misunderstand the entire point of the democratic process. People have been whining and complaining for YEARS that they want a candidate who isn't just like everyone else. They have been moaning about how the Constitution has been eroded and shredded to the point that it is, for all intents and purposes, useless. They have been saying that they wished that a candidate would come along who would actually enforce the Constitution. Well, here he is, Ron Paul. Because his votong record is absolutely and unwaveringly along Constitutional lines and NOT party lines, people call him a "wacko" or worse. On Capitol Hill they call him "Dr. No" because the refuses to vote for ANYTHING that isn't Constitutional. That kind of devotion to the Constitution and NOT to party politics is exactly what I, and many others, want from our elected "leaders". Incidentally, those who call him names have rarely even read his positions or have any clue of his voting record. They usually just base their opinions on the smear campaigns that are launched. Did you know, for instance, that the New York Times recently retracted a story in which there were allegations of racism by Dr. Paul? (Linked below.) I'm willing to bet that all kinds of people heard about the original smear piece but aren't aware that the story has been proven false and has been retracted.
- I realize you probably don't know much about Ron Paul, but I'm also willing to bet, you don't know much about how the media can influence a candidates election........take foxnews for instance........they ripped Pat Buchanan when he was running...calling him a racist.....it ruined his campaign......but what have we found out since then ?, He's not a racist !, but its too late to retract that fact, so Foxnews uses Pat Buchanan for political commentary now, they threw him a bone to promote his books on tv rather than offer him a fair chance of proving himself to the american people.........and this is what we are getting with Ron Paul all over again.....but guess what ? once bitten.......twice shy....... Were not going to let the media control the outcome of this election......hence, the Ron Paul Revolution.......... were taking it door to door.........corner to corner..........in the skies........in the churches.........HE WILL BE OUR NEXT PRESIDENT !
- You should tune into the right program sister. Please read all these blogs after this NYT article: http://themedium.blogs.nytimes.com/2007/12/26/editors-note-the-ron-paul-vid-lash/ It might just open up your eyes. Ron Paul Has A Very GOOD Chance Of Becoming The NEXT President of the USA!!!!! ******************************************************
- If he doesn't win, then I am voting for Barack Obama. If Barack doesn't get nominated, I am voting for Giuliani. If he doesn't get the nod, then I will vote for Edwards. If that doesn't happen, then I am screwed.
- Ron Paul is a nut job. The majority of his voters are either in high school or college and dont really know anything about the way our government works. Anyone who seriously thinks he has a chance of winning the republican nomination is either an idiot, or lives under a rock and doesn't know what a poll is. He may be popular online on sites like this one, but that doesn't mean shit because a majority of the people online (especially on sites like yahoo answers and youtube) are people that can not vote. Ron Paul Revolution is a crock of shit.
- Who cares if he wins or not.. that's not the point. Ron Paul is an idea.
- and vote for who? fred thompson?romney? Ahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
