Iowa excludes Ron Paul from a tax relief forum?? Did you hear about this?
Just in a letter from Ken Snyder: http://blog.ronpaul2008.com/ron_paul_2008/2007/06/ron_paul_exclud.html Ron Paul Excluded in Iowa Iowans for Tax Relief and Iowa Christian Alliance will host a presidential candidates forum on Saturday, June 30th in Des Moines. Republican presidential candidates Mitt Romney, Sam Brownback, Jim Gilmore, Mike Huckabee, Tommy Thompson, and Tom Tancredo will participate. Ron Paul, however, will not participate. Why? Because he wasn’t invited. We heard about this forum from numerous supporters in Iowa who asked why Dr. Paul was not going to participate. Those supporters assumed that Dr. Paul was invited and would participate. The campaign office had not received an invitation so we called this morning; thinking we might have misplaced the invitation or simply overlooked it. Lew Moore, our campaign manager, then called Mr. Edward Failor, an officer of Iowans for Tax Relief, to ask about it. To our shock, Mr. Failor told us this morning that Dr. Paul was not invited; he was not going to be invited; and he would not be allowed to participate. And when asked why, Mr. Failor refused to explain. The call ended. Lew then called Mr. Steve Sheffler, president of the Iowa Christian Alliance, to talk with him. Mr. Sheffler did not answer so Lew left a message. He has yet to respond. Why are the Iowans for Tax Relief and the Iowa Christian Alliance excluding the one Republican candidate who scored at the top of every online poll taken after the MSNBC, Fox News, and CNN debates? Why are they denying Iowans the opportunity to hear from the Republican presidential candidate whose popularity is growing by the day? We couldn’t get answers to these questions from Messrs. Failor and Sheffler. Maybe you’ll have better luck. Their contact information is below. It's ironic that on the same day we learned the Iowans for Tax Relief and the Iowa Christian Alliance excluded Dr. Paul from their candidates forum, we received a call from ABC News confirming Dr. Paul’s participation in its nationally broadcast August 5th debate to be held in Des Moines. - Your question is deceptively worded. It is not Iowa excluding him it is 2 Private organizing the event who decide who they do & do not want to invite. That is their perogative. It appears that Guiliani & McCain have also been excluded. Why do THEIR exclusions not bother you?
- I did hear of it! I'm going to boycott ALL products that I know are produced in Iowa. I know Sue Bee Honey is one of them. {Jimmie Dean products???} Maybe we can start a nation wide boycott????
- Who's Ron Paul? Never heard of him...
- Go here to sign the petition to include Ron Paul in the Iowa debates: http://www.petitiononline.com/rp063007/petition.html Over 1000 signatures in about 3 hours!
- Iowa Republicans are stubborn and quietly judgmental so I'm not surprised that Paul, McCain or Guiliani weren't invited.
- It doesnt matter, Obama and Clinton were not invited too... Only the ones that are sure to lose have been invited... You should see this as a proof that Ron has chance to win... In your place, I would have been happy!
- Ironic that a tax relief forum would leave out the guy who really has credentials in the area.
- Yes I did hear about this situation and I e-mailed all parties concerned. I am a supporter of Ron Paul and have joined my local group here in Hawaii. I want everyone to hear what he has to say and be able to make an intellegent vote when the time comes.
- LOL And so, the fight begins LOL Did you expect anything different. It was no surprise to me that this would happen aftre Guiliani and McCain said they wont show up....you have to remember that Failor is a MAJOR contributor to the McCain campaign. People will say to boycott this or that. While this might sound like its a way to deal with it---it wont have any effect...the event is only one day and after the event eveyrthing will return to normal agian -- the boycott will be forgotten. No - if you want to make a differnece on this deal you will have to get a hold of the organizers to change thier minds...somehitng along the lines of a mass email campaign to chnage it...the other option might be to get a hold of the competition and get a Ron Paul responses out to every single question in a seperate TTV showing...this way he gets 100% of the time and doesnt have to share it wiht anyone else.
- I signed the petition then I E-mailed Edward Failure. Iowans for Tax Relief doesn't mean anything unless they invite the only member of Congress who has voted against raising taxes EVERY time.
- Dog gone right I heard about it. I called them faxed them and emailed them. The petition has over 1000 signatures on it. Let everyone you know about this. We will win this battle. More to come and we will win those as well.
- Not only have I not heard of this, I have never heard of Ron Paul? Why is this?
