Why would Rudy have a reporter with legal credentials arrested for asking a question after the debate?

I do not necessarily support this reporter or who he works for. I just find it amazing that Rudy will have you arrested if he does not like what you ask him while the camera is rolling. What about the Freedom of Speech and the Freedom of the Press? What do you think? http://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/WO0706/S00036.htm Reporters were questioning Giuliani staff members on a variety of issues, including his apparent ignorance of the 9/11 Commission Report, according to Bermas. The staff members accused the reporters of Ron Paul partisanship, which press denied. It was at this point that Lepacek, who was streaming a live report, asked a staff member about Giuliani's statement to Peter Jennings that he was told beforehand that the WTC buildings would collapse. Giuliani's press secretary then called over New Hampshire state police, fingering Lepacek....... Freedom to Fascism reporter Samuel Ettaro was also dragged out after asking a question on Giuliani's ties with Cintra and Macquerie, two foreign contractors involved with the contentious Trans-Texas Corridor under development in Texas. The entire incident took place in a large press auditorium, apart from the debate stages where authorized media were able to question candidates and their handlers. Since when do campaign operatives have the power to order state police to arrest someone on false charges or arbitrate who has the right to conduct journalism, a right guarded by the Constitution? Nikki - I could post the youtube video link if you prefer to see it for yourself. Some youtube videos have been showing up with viruses is why I opted for a text format. Of course this was not reported by the US press so far. video link - at your own risk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VOerYpJse30

  1. Rudy believes in the police state. Ask any NYer.
  2. The Constitution? Have you heard of the Patriot Act? There is no Constitution, my friend.
  3. Because Rudy is part of the problem. Do you wonder why it's his legal firm that represents the Spanish consortium that is building and is responsible for the Trans-Texas corridor??? Besides the question was too hot......He did say it...Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
  4. Obvious answer to your question...the guy was breaking the law! You don't get your face in someone's grill and expect him to stand there and take it.
  5. They don't, that should tell you right there that this is bogus.
  6. Typical Republican reaction. If you don't like what someone says, put them away.
  7. What about the Freedom of Speech and the Freedom of the Press? Can you say “Patriot Act”? How about “GOP”?
  8. I have long believed that the American public is poorly served by the Press, as they are all butt kissers and hand picked for their attendance at White House press conferences and events such as debates. The reporters to whom you refer and who have been arrested are the kind that truly represent the American people, and the rest of the world. They ask the questions we all want to ask. But their questions make SPIN very difficult and often, embarassing for politicians. They are the ones who seek the TRUTH...not the party line. Hopefully, CNN will pick up the torch on this one, and act responsibly. Afterall, they are the press. And its important for that to remain constitutionally free....right?
  9. I luv NY, wears heavy with this bs. So Rudy has opened the door for further looking. Nice over-reaction. I'm surprised that a politician on a national campaign has so little grace.
  10. Wow, thanks for letting us know this. Doubt the mainstream press would report it at all. Goes to show he is closer to Bush than most would think.
  11. This is a sure sign that as I have often Said "America has become a police state " The media reports how dangerous being an officer is all the time . Yet when you look up vital statistics you find the construction deaths are much higher then that of police officers and prison guards . The average wage of these people who provide you shelter which you would perish without is $12.00 an hour . So why does the press make like being an officer is so dangerous that they deserve more money . If anything they should come to the rescue of the poor working guy who only earns $24,000.00 a year and is at three time the risk of death and injury as that of police men who Always get the media attention
  12. YOU SOURCE IS NOT CREDIBLE WHY WASN'T IT ON CNN. THEY WOULD HAVE LOVED TO RUN THAT. THIS IS EITHER UN TRUE OR THE DUDE HAD NO CREDENTIALS. CNN IS THE SISTER STATION OF AL JAZEERA THE TERROR NETWORK. YOU PUT IT TOGETHER.
  13. I'd say the reporter was harassing him, not just asking a question. A police officer would never arrest someone for "asking a question." There has to be a legal charge. Look at the charges filed and you will have your answer.
  14. The source is INFOWARS??? The same group that says Bush caused 9/11?!?! Go on the looney blogs please.
  15. What a sad statement on what America has become. Ghouliania is such a crook. I can't believe the Republican party is buying into his terror ticket. This guy is George Bush all over again except worse. If he becomes President World War will not be far behind.
  16. New Yorkers well know Rudy and are not impressed.
  17. This only foreshadows what will happen to regular Americans who voice dissent if Rudy is elected. First reporters, then the average person. It is interesting that they would go after a CNN journalist especially since Rudy has a business connection with Fox News. The rights our ancestors fought for are being stolen by self-righteous individuals who will stop at nothing to protect their own image. Rudy has profited off the blood of Americans that died on 9/11 and continue to die as a result of breathing toxic dust at the WTC.
