Conservatives: will you vote for Giuliani if he runs in 2008?

Rudy Giuliani seems to be the main republican candidate, but he is very liberal for his party, especially when it comes to social issues. Will you still vote for him?

Public Comments

  1. I would likely vote for Giuliani if McCain doesn't run.
  2. I consider myself a moderate and I like Giuliani, but I need to hear more from him on some issues before deciding. I do like McCain quite a bit, but I'm not thrilled with his stance on the war of choice in Iraq.
  3. no ....... i wouldn't
  4. If he is the best candidate. It's hard to say yes or no unless I know all my options.
  5. I like him, and I would vote for him if his platform is what I think it will be.
  6. no
  7. I might.
  8. While Guiliani became popular with the country with the way he handled and dealt with the aftermath of 9/11 .... up until that time his popularity had gone waaaaaaaaay waaaaaaaaay down in NYC. He became a very 'heavy handed' mayor ... the police were out of control in the way they handled the public ... and he stood by them, even if they were wrong. He never listened to anybody, much like Bush is doing now. He was not very diplomatic. The schools got worse under his mayorship. Among many other things. Sure crime went down ... but we shouldn't vote for someone for President, when all they care about is 'policing' the people. If 9/11 never happened, he'd be in the dustbin of political has beens. I voted for him for mayor the first time ... but NOT the second time! Now I would NEVER vote for Guiliani ... not even for dog catcher!
  9. I have certain questions for Rudy (that I doubt you'll be able to answer). What does he think about the Supreme Court? What kind of Justices current or former does he admire? What does he expect from the people who he would appoint? Rudy's reputation is for being conservative about fighting crime but for being socially liberal, as you point out. Can we expect the same thing from the people whom he would appoint to the Court? If so, then his appointees are the opposite of what the Court really needs.
  10. hell no man. giuliani sucks.
  11. I WOULD VOTE FOR HIM. HE REALLY CLEANED UP NEW YORK WITH HIS NO NONSENSE STYLE. HE DIDN'T TAKE CRAP FROM ANYBODY. UNLIKE MAYOR BLOOMBERG YOU WOULDN'T CATCH HIM TRYING TO SUCK UP TO SLIME LIKE SHARPTON, BARRON, RANGEL ETC. HIS POPULARITY SOARED AFTER 9/11.
