(Republicans Only) Should Rudy Giuliani be President in 2008?
Don't answer this question if you are a fat, nasty liberal who thinks Hillary Clinton will be your sugar mamma if she becomes President. I want to know what Republicans think about Giuliani. People say he's too liberal on social issues, but I think the people saying that are liberals. They say he isn't going to do anything about illegal immigration or prevent more abortions. Is he really too liberal? He has a book out. Giuliani: Leadership is the name of it.

- Way too liberal. I hope he doesnt win the primary but if he does I will still vote for him. He is still better than that combat boot wearing Clinton or Comrad Obama.
- Absolutely, Rudy Guilliani will be a great president who will adress all the issues of this country regardless of all rumors or presumptions going around at the moment.
- I am not a Republican, nor am I a Democrat. However, I consider myself a conservative. On most social issues, I have no problem with Giuliani letting people, for the most part, be. My main issue with him is that of illegal immigration. I don't believe that he will help the country at all on immigration when considering his track record (making NYC an asylum/haven for illegals). Other than that, I don't have much of an issue with the man and think that if he can change his position to a more border-secure policy, he would be great.
- Absolutely not. For some reason, folks think this guy actually did something in NY while he was mayor. He received all this support on September 11th when all he did was SHOW UP!! And that was his job. For the previous years he did little more than bring his girlfriend into Gracie Mansion while his wife and children were still living there. Please, compare him to Clinton on that matter. You didnt like it when it was a Democrat, so dont get hypocritical now.
- I'll take him over a democrat any day. He did a world of good for New York.
- I think he is a much better choice than Billary. Obama is a cokehead joke. Al Gore is a loser. Edwards head isn t in the game. I think Giuliani is a good choice. His possition on some issues certainly arnt the popular choice but hey its hard to please everyone. I think he would really pull Americans together. For the record I would vote JEB 08!
- I think he has a good chance, and I would like to see him as president.... Here is why... I think that people want a change because they are all liberal wishy washy pansys.... so people who normally would vote republican, may be leaning towards democrat this time around for a change.... He is a little more liberal, BUT I think that the republicans need to take what they can get this time around because of the current issues everyone is having with Bush, NOT that I agree, but we have to be honest with ourselves here. My thought is, I am ABSOLUTLY against abortion, Rudy is a little more liberal on that fact, but presidents cant just MAKE things legal, it has to go through ALOT of people before it gets said and done... And if it came down to him putting a liberal or republican in any office, I know it would be republican, and republicans are against abortion in most cases.... So, its a win, win situation.. the fence walkers get someone a little more leinient on the republican side to vote for, and the republicans get a nomination that people will want to vote for.. Ill take it :) DOWN WITH HILLARY... Uhg, she is nasty!
- Rhetorical questions are great! Just kidding, but in all seriousness...YES. Of course he should be president! All people need to do is look at Miss Outrageousness, Pelosi, multiply that times 100 and you can see how Clinton's administration would go. Except for Arnold, I am embarrassed to be a Californian. Giuliani is popular among Republicans already, and moderate enough to woo over many Dems. To me, metaphorically speaking, he is the only candidate.
- no. he is an adulterer who kicked his legally married wife to the curb in a news conference!!! didn't he move his lover into the mayors mansion even before the divorce was final? that was the scandal in August of 2001 Then 911 occurred and he rose to the occasion all of a sudden he was an angel sent from God.. it's curious that Republicans can forgive his sins but throw Bill Clinton's adultery up in his and Hilary's face any chance they get. What's good for the goose is good for the gander. Republican's need to expand their myopic vision and realize no one is completely bad. Everyone can make a mistake, an error in judgement. They extend that curtesy to Giuliani conveniently wiping away all of his sins and only hailing his leadership. I'm okay with that but you can't have it both ways. Judge him by the same standard you would a Democrat Running NYC does not translate into running a country.
- I like Rudy. One would think that if the libs really mean what they preach, they would like him, too. Remember Katrina and how EVERYTHING was the federal government's fault? Remember 911 and how Rudy handled it? Also, I like that fact that he started facing down crime in NYC by arresting people for the littlest infractions.
- I am a hardcore right-winger. I could live with Guliani, although I would prefer a real conservative (maybe Newt?) -Aztec276
- I'm not a fan of some of his policies. He is too neo-con for me. I prefer someone more Regan-esque. With Rudy, I feel I will be choosing the proverbial lesser of 2 evils.
- Only if the leading GOP can't beat the leading Dem would I vote for him. I have a hard time trusting he'll be what he says he'll be. My #1 issue is will he be tough on terror & will National security be priority. I'm scared of what judges he'll pick & will our nation become more of a welfare state. Will he raise taxes? Otherwise, I will vote in Primary for someone else.
- I don't like his stands on Abortion.I believe he showed great leadership in New York after 9/11.I think he would do great with the war but would only be a one term President because he lacks the core base of the Republicans. Whoever runs for the Republicans will loose this election because the Conservatives aren't done making there statement to the republicans yet,on there lame duck Congress for 12 years.
- i hope he runs, because it will only help the other side! he's too centrist for most red-staters, so it will only dilute the republican vote. not that it matters anyway, y'all are pretty good at fixing elections, which is why i stopped voting a while back.
