Do you agree with Fred Thompson that Rudy Giuliani is an enemy of the 2nd Amendment?

BRISTOL, N.H. - Presidential hopeful Fred Thompson said Friday that New York City isn't a model for the rest of the country and that Rudy Giuliani should stop basing his stances on his time as that city's mayor. Gun rights is a key issue among libertarian-leaning primary voters in New Hampshire. "(Giuliani) simply supported just about every gun control legislation that came down the pike. I just disagree with him on that," Thompson said. "I saw he was at bill signing ceremonies with (New York Sen.) Chuck Schumer and President Clinton and others for gun control legislation over the years." Thompson also said the Democrats would do everything they could to end gun rights. "They were against gun rights for a long time and they paid for it at the polls," he said. 10. No, I don't agree with his synopsis. Rudy has been a proponent of tougher laws regarding gun purchases and made efforts to see illegal gun use meets with the strictest punishment under law. I support his efforts. Legitimate and responsible gun owners can easily abide by the stricter laws and should support government efforts to keep guns out of reach of criminals. However, that said, Rudy has nonetheless promised to appoint originalists and textualists to the Supreme Court who would stand behind the 2nd, as opposed to justices that would support the liberal social agenda. I believe Rudy and also, that this is one area that though it has been brought up repeatedly, bears no reality in truth.
11. I like guns and don't want any restrictions placed on them. Any politician that tries to pass legislation or sponsors legislation that restricts gun ownership, in my opinion, should be shot. In fact, I think the Democratic party needs to change its stance on guns.

13. While I certainly wouldn't classify Giuliani as a friend of the NRA.. I don't think that he is an actual enemy.... There are many that are far worse than he is.. tho none among the Republican candidates. Personally I'd like to see Duncan Hunter up with the front runners... it would make for a better race, with more real choice.
