Why do 38% of the Republicans in NJ support Rudy Giuliani for President? Next best(McCain) at only 10.8%.?
NJ would seem to know Rudy better than anyone else, since there state is so heavily dependent on NYC for its economy, culture, etc.,. NJ Residents are forced to watch NYC Television stations for their news. The fact that they are so firmly in his camp seems to mean many of the myths being perpetrated about how bad a guy he is, are just that myths! http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/president/nj/new_jersey_republican_primary-245.html

- I agree. Its all about hype and belittling one another anymore.
- Go to Youtube ans watch some of the videos about him. That should change your mind !
- I think they are as biased as us "Rednecks".Does not make them any smarter, just opinionated like everyone else.
- I don't trust realclearpolitics, CFR are supporting them. I don't let polls decide who I am voting for anyways.
- To Each his/her own! I will not vote for a Liberal who changes his positions only to get Elected!
- They are less scary than Huckabee.
- They know that Rudy is corrupt and that he has supported gay marriage, gambling, and illegal immigration. They relate to Rudy as one of their own in that he speaks like them and carry's their views.
- Alot of people pick according to name recognition. sad, but true...
- that's NJ, nuf said, Rudy is a fascist in the classic sence, there is no such thing as corruption in Rudy world, it's just friends helping friends get rich.
- I live in New Jersey he is an excellent leader. I worked in NYC in 2001 he did a great job. He will always have his critics, but his compassion will be always remembered in my mind.
- Sorry, but Rudy screwed himself by not campaigning in Iowa and New Hampshire very heavily. He'll lose both states badly which will cause his support in South Carolina and Michigan to dwindle to the point where he will lose both those states badly. From there, he is toast. Also, in relation to your analogy, only 14% of people in Manhatten supported the Bush re-election and his war on terror. Does that mean John Kerry was the better candidate?
- Because people from dirty Jersey love to pretend that they're from NYC
- It seems that McCain has not had the support of the Republicans for some time. I was always attracted to his maverick image and think that he is an honorable man. The Republicans however have been changing their tactics. They used to manipulate the religious right, and it seems that it may be backfiring on them with surge of interest in Huckabee, whom the ruling Republicans really don't want. Rudy can be promoted with the newer (and weak) platform of scaring Americans into believing that the Republican party is the only party that can protect you from the Muslim bogeyman.
- The guido's tend to enjoy Rudy because of his last name.
- Isn't it funny that the people who have only good to say about Rudy are the ones who have experienced his leadership? I am one of the lucky ones that got to enjoy the Giuliani administration in NYC. Rudy's passion for this Country and the people in it, will lead it to greatness. Wizzards - I don't need to watch videos. I have real life experience.
- Well, it is New Jersey, after all. Those may just be the rivals of the NY mob bosses he put away when he was a federal prosecutor thanking him for getting rid of the competition. BTW, I lived in NYC while he was mayor, and it was a miserable experience watching him mismanage the greatest city on earth.
- I used to live in Joisey.... both before and then, again into Rudy's reign. He did a miraculous job of turning that city around! And, as those in the know know, those people have a great sense of politics!
